Big Island-Based Microbrewery Offers Two Free Daily Tours

06.17.2011– Kailua-Kona, Big Island of Hawaii (June 2011) – Sipping one of Kona Brewing Company’s many styles of beer might send otherwise pliant taste buds reeling in a state of euphoric disbelief. What if there was a way to give them sufficient proof that the delectable foam fizzing about was not an export of heaven, but in fact the product of a Big Island-based microbrewery?

Fortunately for those with doubting taste buds, Kona Brewing Company offers free tours of its flagship brewery in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Offered twice a day, at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm, seven days a week, these tours provide visitors an unparalleled glimpse into the workings of the seventeen-year-old microbrewery. 

As the kettle boils in the background, tour participants learn step by step what it takes to create handcrafted Liquid Aloha. From milling to fermenting, to the final bottling stages, these tours are sure to fascinate visitors, kama`aina, and anyone with skeptical taste buds.  And, as the tour winds down, participants are granted a complimentary tasting of the many beers in the Kona Brewing Company lineup.

Kona Brewing Company proudly brews over a dozen different beers regularly. The Longboard Island Lager, the Big Wave Golden Ale and the Fire Rock Pale Ale are the most popular and can be purchased year round. Kona Brewing Company brews are sold throughout Hawaii and in select Mainland locations and in Japan.

For those who can’t visit Kona Brewing Company’s flagship brewery in person, there is even a virtual version of the brewery tour online.

The Kona Pub & Brewery, located just off of Kuakini Highway, is Kona Brewing Company’s flagship location.
