Wynkoop & Elitch Gardens–Orchard Wheat & Fire Roasted Amber

Wynkoop announced today that they will be co-brewing Orchard Wheat & Fire Roasted Amber with Elitch Gardens.  From Wynkoop:

Elitch Gardens and Wynkoop will be unleashing two extraordinary beers tomorrow to celebrate summer rolling in: Orchard Wheat and our Fire Roasted Amber. Equally refreshing beers will be around all summer at Elitch’s Beer Garden and at the brewpub. Come by and check them out.

The beers – Elitch Gardens Orchard Wheat and Elitch Gardens Fire Roasted Amber — will go on tap at Wynkoop at 7 PM on May 15 as part of Wynkoop’s American Craft Beer Week festivities.

The beers will go on tap at Elitch Gardens at 11 AM on May 19. They will be served in the Blue Moon Beer Garden, J.M. Mulvihill’s Bar & Grill and Rustler’s Food Court.

These new beers are part of Elitch Gardens’ growing focus on carrying craft beer at the park and connecting better with its customers.

“We’re extremely excited about these custom-made Elitch Gardens beers and our partnership with Wynkoop Brewing Company,” says Rod Rankin, General Manager for Elitch Gardens. “We wanted to boost the variety and excitement level of our beer offerings at the park—and we have a feeling our guests will love the new beer selections.”

“The Elitch A-Team,” says Wynkoop’s Marty Jones, “came to us with a genuine desire to boost the small-batch side of its beer list. They also understood how our hometown craft beer helped them strengthen their ties with the community. We were very impressed by that.”

“In a town brimming with lovers of local craft beer,” Jones adds, “these creations are a wonderful way for Elitch Gardens to add joy to a day at the park. And this makes for a great partnership, since both of our enterprises have a long history of making people happy in Denver.”

Elitch Gardens Orchard Wheat is a 4.8% ABV unfiltered American-style wheat made with pale malt, malted wheat, German Saphir hops, kaffir lime leaf and a small dose of natural peach flavor.

It’s a complex, ultra-refreshing wheat beer with hints of citrus and fruit in a creamy bodied, perfect-for-summer beer.

Elitch Gardens Fire Roasted Amber is made with pale and crystal malts, US and UK hops, roasted-in-house Anaheim and ancho chiles, and a dose of smoked Serrano peppers. It’s fermented with an English Ale yeast and is a very drinkable 5.2% ABV.

Akin to a maltier, slightly spicier version of Wynkoop’s famed Patty’s Chile Beer, Fire Roasted Amber features a fresh-roasted pepper aroma and hints of pepper heat, blended with caramel and malt flavors

“We put a lot of thought into these beers with the Elitch staff,” says Wynkoop head brewer Andy Brown. “Our collective goal was to create unique beers that were exciting to the park’s craft beer fans, but fitting for adventurous mainstream drinkers looking for thrills in the beer garden.”
