Samuel Adams Porch Rocker Returns & 2013 & Brewlywed Coming 6/26

An instant favorite with many Sam fans since we introduced it last year, Samuel Adams Porch Rocker is a bright and citrusy Bavarian Radler with a fresh-squeezed lemon taste and refreshing finish. Crisp and tangy with its combination of lager and tart lemonade, this popular German style is a unique summer quencher for those warmer days we’ve all been anticipating.

A traditional Bavarian Radler is beer mixed with German-style lemonade, or lemon soda. This refreshing concoction got its name from the German cyclists that first inspired its creation. In the 1920s a Bavarian innkeeper developed the drink when a large group of cyclists stopped by and he realized he didn’t have enough beer to go around. So, he mixed what little he had with lemon soda and called it Radlermass (or cyclist’s liter) and the refreshing style quickly took off. Our take on this style begins with a Helles, a crisp German-style lager with a golden straw color, light maltiness and subtle hop note. To turn this into a Radler we combined it with our own blend of lemons to create just the right combination of subtle tart sweetness, citrus, and bright refreshing flavor.

Get your hands on this year’s batch of Brewlywed Ale, a special wedding brew we first introduced last year.
