Mybeerbuzz.com Is Under Attack! (NO Joke)

At mybeerbuzz we monitor and track our internet traffic very carefully.  We like to see what people like, and sometimes more importantly, what they don’t like.  Recently we noticed a significant amount of traffic hitting a specific post.  Since the post in question wasn’t any sort of earth shattering news, and it dated back to June, we started to dig a little further.  After a little research we found a number of sites back-linking to this post, and many of which were junk sites with people listing my post as their home page or web page. 

After digging a little further we found the above web page on odesk.com a service that apparently does more than connecting the right freelancer with the right jobs….or should I say a service that appears to allow people to connect with harmful freelancers.   We also found a closed post that had run on odesk requesting the same attack.

I’ll post the text below and you can find the “job” here on odesk….but as it turns out,

someone out there was/is offering $100 for anyone to do what is called a back-link-blast on my site in an attempt to dump me off the first page of google search results.

Keep in mind I work very hard on my website and it’s taken me years to gain the high authority I have for search results, so we consider this Negative SEO or Black SEO attempt to be not only an attack on mybeerbuzz.com but also an attack on all of our readers.

I have contacted odesk, but I suspect they will only remove the post (if that).  I have also asked that they identify the user, so stay tuned. In the mean time, if you love great beer and have a little technology experience with this sort of attack, please drop me an e-Mail ([email protected] ) so we can identify and stop this attacker.
