NEW YORK, NY – February 23, 2016 – As Hollywood prepares for the biggest awards show of the season, Stella Artois has commissioned fashion designer Christian Siriano and E! News Co-Anchor Maria Menounos to leave a different kind of mark on the red carpet. Today, 663 million people around the world live without access to clean water, and Stella Artois is supporting Water.org to help end the global water crisis through their new “Buy a Lady a Drink” campaign. To drive awareness of the cause, Siriano has designed a custom dress for Menounos, which she will debut during the season’s most important red carpet event on February 28, 2016.

Siriano sought inspiration for the dress from the campaign’s three limited edition Stella Artois Chalices, designed by artists from Kenya, Peru and Haiti. The Chalices are each etched with designs that represent a specific water problem faced by women in those countries. The limited edition Chalices first went on sale in January, and each Chalice sold helps Water.org provide five years of clean water for one person in the developing world.

“I was inspired by glass, water, sculpture and the idea of reflection when creating the designs for Maria,” says Siriano. “I used metallic beading and embroideries to create movement in each piece, which were also inspired by the etchings and designs on the chalices. These designs are graphic but still soft and make both gowns feel beautiful, romantic and luxurious.”

E! News Co-Anchor Maria Menounos will debut the one-of-a-kind dress during E!’s “Live From the Red Carpet: The 2016 Academy Awards” coverage on Sunday, February 28, 2016 beginning at 1:30pm ET/10:30am PT, live from Los Angeles.

“Christian designed my dress in honor of the millions of women around the world who walk miles to collect water for their families,” said Menounos. “We are both so inspired by these amazing women, who are leading ladies in their own right, and are honored to help Stella Artois and Water.org make an impact on a very important issue.”

Consumers can purchase one of the exclusive Chalices for $13 at Amazon.com. For every Chalice sold in the U.S., Stella Artois will donate $6.25 to Water.org, up to 90,000 chalices.

The lucky winning bidder will also receive two tickets to an upcoming Christian Siriano fashion show. The majority of auction proceeds will be donated directly to Water.org.
