Burial Beer Releasing The Ocean Swallows the Sun, The Triumph of Death & Ulfberht Baltic Porter 11/22More release news from Burial Beer in Asheville, NC:

The Ocean Swallows the Sun Hibiscus Gose, The Triumph of Death Sumac Saison, & Ulfberht Baltic Porter

WEDNESDAY, NOV 22nd

Come by Burial for three brand new releases perfect for your Thanksgiving table.

The Ocean Swallows the Sun is our modern Gose, soured the hard way, using oak barrels to age the beer on our house lactobacillus. Brewed with our own blend of sea salts, this sea worthy vessel is christened with Hibiscus and rose hips imparting floral notes and a sunrise rose hue. Bottle conditioned in 12oz-4pack bottles.

The Triumph of Death is our annual sumac Saison made with NC barley, wheat and rye. Fermented with house mixed culture and aged upon heaps of North Carolina Sumac. A blend of 60% steel fermented saison and 40% foudre-aged saison. Bottle Conditioned in 750ml bottles.

Ulfberht Baltic Porter makes its debut in 16oz cans. Forged from German and British malts, fermented on juniper berries and traditionally lagered, the result is a mildly spiced but highly aromatic black lager with an ever-present aroma of chocolate, licorice, and roasted nuts.

Weekly Releases:

Tuesday, November 21st

Bonedagger –  Pale Ale

Deep within our very bodies resides the punishing truth and morbid drive to forge the tools for a path to enlightenment. This Pale is made from wheat from three varietals; malted red wheat, flaked wheat, and raw NC-grown wheat. Bonedagger offers a round mouthfeel and a midly-sweet grain presence, but is dry-hopped with dank and peachy Citra hops and Simcoe Lupulin Powder that take this Pale to the bounds of the style.

Ulfberht – Baltic Porter with Juniper Berries

Between these jagged edges lays the storied steel wielded by mortals to please the gods of war and death. Forged from German and British malts, fermented upon juniper berries and traditionally lagered, our Baltic Porter is made with respect for those that came before it.  The result is a mildly spiced but highly aromatic black lager with an ever-present aroma of chocolate, licorice, and roasted nuts. Fear not the presence of the blade, for today’s prize knows no wrath.

Skullsaw Sweet Potato Porter

Enraptured by ethereal perceptions, our most captivating concepts easily shine before us. And often, they guide us back to right where we were. For each single brew, nearly 1,000 lbs of sweet potatoes, from our own home state, present a robust mouthfeel and subtle flavor, spice free, that lends to the drinkability of our beloved porter. The bounty of the season’s feast shall lay lightly upon our tongue.

Hawkbill – IPA

A blade for many a pocket, this IPA is an icon of the way Burial has made its unique IPA for years. Made with Pilsner, Oats, and locally grown and malted rye. Mosaic, El Dorado, and Galaxy hops present a sharp, citrus punch while the addition of Simcoe to the dry hop adds a final piney complexity to this easy sipping hazy IPA.
