Von Ebert Brewing, Grand Fir Brewing teamed up on an American Lager, while their food partners plan to grill and BBQ together on May 30.

PORTLAND, Oregon — Today, Von Ebert Brewing and Grand Fir Brewing released their collaboration on an American Lager called Sacred Stone. And to celebrate the limited-release beer, HarBQ chefs Harlan Porterfield and Evan Alvarado and Chef Doug Adams of Bitterroot and Grand Fir Brewing are teaming up for a grill out on Saturday, May 30, in the parking lot of Von Ebert Brewing’s N. Mississippi location (825 N. Cook St., Portland).

“This isn’t our first collaboration with Grand Fir Brewing, but it’s definitely our most exciting! Coming off a couple of big American Light Lager medal wins, we wanted to find a partner this year to push the boundaries on what that style can be,” said Sam Pecoraro, brewmaster of Von Ebert Brewing. “Grand Fir is known for wielding a hammer and a feather interchangeably, so Whitney Burnside and her crew came to mind right away. Whitney and I both had beers recently with a New Zealand hop that screamed, ‘put me in something light and delicate,’ and thought Kohatu would be the perfect complement to some jasmine rice, our little evolution of the American Lager style we all know and love.”

Sacred Stone American Lager is 4% ABV with notes of pineapple, lime and water cracker malt. This collaboration lager will be available at all Von Ebert Brewing locations in draft and 16 oz cans, as well as in some Northwest retailers, restaurants and bars while it lasts.

Regulars at Von Ebert Brewing’s N. Mississippi location know it’s home to not only Oregon’s largest beer can and $3 mugs of Clubhaus American Light Lager, but critically acclaimed, HarBQ food truck on weekends. HarBQ chefs Harlan Porterfield and Evan Alvarado and Chef Doug Adams of Bitterroot and Grand Fir Brewing are partnering on Saturday, May 30, with a special menu of barbeque and grilled items. Get there when they open at noon or risk them selling out before you arrive to celebrate the collaboration beer.

Von Ebert Brewing also now offers non-alcohol hop sparkling waters, hard seltzers with plans for hard teas and hard punches later this year for those who don’t drink beer. The new brewing facility at N. Mississippi allows Von Ebert Brewing production and distribution to go from 4,000 barrels per year to as much as 20,000 barrels per year and it’s more than halfway there. Von Ebert Brewing now sells more of its products in 12-ounce and 16-ounce cans and expanded its distribution throughout Oregon, Washington, Colorado, California and Japan.

Von Ebert Brewing was founded in 2018 by Tom M. Cook and Tom S. Cook in Portland, Oregon. Von Ebert Brewing is named after the family matriarch lovingly referred to as “Grandma Ebert.” The quintessential immigrant story, Grandma Ebert came to America from Germany via Ellis Island and relied on her grit and determination to create a successful life for her family here in the states. In that vein, the brewery has displayed those same traits and gained success through numerous World Beer Cup medals: 2026 Silver and 2025 Gold American Light Lager with Clubhaus, 2023 Gold German-Style Pilsner with Pils and 2024 Bronze Vienna Lager. Our moniker celebrates Grandma’s tenacity and honors our heritage. Von Ebert translates loosely to “House of Ebert” or in full English, “House of the Boar.”
