Terrapin Celebrates 20 Years with its Anniversary Party on April 23rd

From Terrapin:

Tickets for the event are now available online with an opportunity to pre-order special anniversary beer

Athens, GA  – Terrapin Beer Co, established in 2002, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and will be throwing a party at its Athens Brewery on April 23rd from 3pm – 8pm. In honor of the monumental birthday, co-founder and VP of Brewing Development, Brian “Spike” Buckowski, developed Old Snapper – a barley wine-style ale – a beer that encompasses the last two decades of brewing world-class beer.

“To celebrate our 20th anniversary, I thought that I would brew a beer that would stand the test of time. Old Snapper encompasses the last 20 years of Terrapin in a nutshell. Big, bold and unafraid to be different, this beer is dedicated to all the Terrapin fans out there,” said Spike Buckowski on the brewing of Old Snapper.

The anniversary event itself will feature live music from Cosmic Charlie and Tribute: A Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band, specialty beers from over the years, food trucks, yard games, and local vendors. The event is a ticketed event and there are two ticket package options to choose from:

The General Admission Package, for $20, includes access to the event, a 20th Anniversary Commemorative Pint Glass, and one (1) 16oz pour.

The VIP Package, for $40, includes access to the event, a 20th Anniversary Commemorative Pint Glass, three (3) 16oz pours, plus a 4pk of 16oz Old Snapper – the Barley Wine-Style Ale exclusively brewed for Anniversary.

“The craft beer industry has evolved so much since we first started,” said President Dustin Watts. “When we first started, there were four production breweries in the state of Georgia. Now, there are 130 craft breweries (Brewers Association 2021). I think what makes Terrapin unique and what has made us stand the test of time is that we’ve got great employees, we recognize we have a social and environmental responsibility, and that we believe in a quality-first approach. We’ve made it 20 years because of this – we know that it’s bigger than beer and we always want to be a pioneer in this industry. We look forward to being able to celebrate our 20th – but even more excited about what’s to come for Terrapin in the future.”

About Terrapin Beer Co.
Terrapin Beer Co. began as a passion for beer between founders Brian “Spike” Buckowski and John Cochran. The two brewed and released their first beer in 2002, a Rye Pale Ale that went on to win a gold medal at the 2002 Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Inspired by the creative culture of Athens, Ga., the brewery’s home, Terrapin works to create unique experiences through its craft beers and is distributed in 16 states. In 2019, Terrapin launched Terraprint, which focuses on environmental sustainability and community outreach.
