Speakeasy Ales & Lagers Releasing Blood Orange Double Daddy Imperial IPA

First Speakeasy Ales & Lagers doubled down on hops and malt. Then they putDouble Daddy in a can. Now they’re raising the stakes with citrus in a special edition of Double Daddy Imperial IPA made with blood oranges. It will be served for the first time on Saturday, April 23, in the Speakeasy Tap Room, & then be distributed.
Blood Orange Double Daddy Imperial IPA contains a complex dose of citrus flavors. Dry-hopped with Amarillo, Nelson, Simcoe, and Mosaic, the aroma is overflowing with grapefruit, orange, and tangerine notes, followed by apricot, mango, & pine. A late addition of blood orange juice and pulp adds an extra layer of flavor with overtones of strawberries and raspberries. Fresh pale malts deliver a touch of biscuit and marmalade. The beer finished at 8.5% abv with 85 IBUs.
The first batch of Blood Orange Double Daddy Imperial IPA is extremely limited. After being served in the Speakeasy Tap Room, a small amount will be shipped throughout California and then to New York City and Philadelphia. Later this spring a larger amount will be released for wider distribution.
