Review: Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights The Elysian Space Dust Series
I’ve been a huge fan for Elysian Brewing from back in the day when they were mostly known for their pumpkin beers…and as someone who is a huge fan of hoppy beers, naturally I was excited to see The Space Dust Series come along. First launched as part of the Manic IPA Series, the original Space Dust IPA has always been a favorite, so naturally I was excited to see new variants and a new series come along.

While Space Dust IPA pretty much lives in my refrigerator permanently, I haven’t been able to taste the new Juice Dust and the even-harder-to-find Phaze Dust…that is until now. If you’re chasing these beers down, Space Dust and Juice Dust are available in the entire US Elysian footprint, however Phaze Dust is only available in Washington and Oregon as part of the Space Dust Variety Pack.
All three beers will fly in at a less-than-sessionable 8.2%-AbV and all three beers will now be packaged in these 19.2oz cans as well as 12oz cans. Since I’ve already sampled and reviewed Space Dust IPA, today I’ll focus on Juice Dust and Phaze Dust. Of course I can’t wait to try them…so off we go.
Elysian Brewing Juice Dust
Brewery Description: Powered by vibrant bursts of real orange juice, Juice Dust IPA corkscrews through space on waves of citrus and notes of sweet tropical fruit.
ABV: 8.2%
IBU: 73
Style: Juicy IPA
Packaging: 19.2oz cans
Appearance: Hazy Amber Yellow
Aroma: Citrus & oranges
Mouthfeel: Medium
Taste: Fruit-forward with mild sweet orange, mango and light caramel malt
Overall: Elysian Juice Dust continues to grow the Space Dust family in a really nice fruit-forward way. The flavors of ripe oranges and sticky mango were prominent but still very subtle for me and overall I think the balance and drinkability were first class.
Elysian Bewing Phaze Dust:
Brewery Description: Emerging from an electrifying wormhole of flavor, this Hazy IPA billows with a soft mouthfeel and sweet notes of candied peach, mango, and tangerine.
ABV: 8.2%
IBU: 35
Style: Imperial Hazy IPA
Packaging: 19.2oz cans
Appearance: Hazy Amber Yellow
Aroma: Tropicat fruits & peach
Mouthfeel: Soft
Taste: Slightly sweet oranges, mango and stone fruit
Overall: Elysian Phaze Dust has a really drinkable mixture of fruit flavors. The mouthfeel os soft and pillowy and the beer is loaded with peach, apricot, citrus and tropical fruit flavors. Overall, this beer remind me most of the original SPace Dust, but with a really interesting mix of fruit flavors. Try this beer!
Elysian Brewing Space Dust IPA, Juice Dust IPA and Phaze Dust IPA are available now in 19.2oz cans and 12oz canned six packs with Phaze Dust being available in OR & WA in the Space Dust Variety Pack….so get out there and try it for yourself…and when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
