Today, I have a new can coming soon from Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn, New York. This is Oyster, and despite the name, there are no Oysters used in the beer. Look for Oyster to be a double dry-hopped pale ale with Citra, Citra Incognito, and Centennial hops that hits 6%-AbV, and it will be packaged in 16-oz cans. Stay tuned for more details. I’ve also added in Snaps lager (4.5%-AbV, 16-oz cans).2026 Other Half Snaps 16-oz Cans

Label Text Other Half Oyster:

“A hazy Pale Ale brewed with a hand-selected blend of hops giving notes of lychee, orange, floral, and mild pine. This pale ale does not contain oysters.”

Label Text Other Half Snaps:

“A bright, refreshing Pilsner-style lager brewed with hand-selected hops (Motueka & Saphir) that deliver delicate floral aromas and zesty citrus notes. Expect a clean finish with a lively burst of lemon-lime, perfect for easy sipping.”

How we started
Sam Richardson, Matt Monahan, and Andrew Burman founded Other Half Brewing Company in Brooklyn, NY in 2014 with a simple mission: to create beer that they wanted to drink from a company that they wanted to be a part of. Their vision was to push the boundaries of beer and the culture that surrounds it by representing the “Other Half” of the industry.

How we’ve grown
Since opening our first taproom in 2014, we’ve been dedicated to building the evolution of the local brewery, and have since grown to add spaces in New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia, the Bloomfield, and Buffalo. We invest in each of our local communities with limited-edition beer, merchandise, and experiences. We create spaces for real-world relationships to grow, and always leave room for innovation to take us in new directions.

Other Half Brewing is a craft brewery known for its bold, hop-heavy IPAs and a wide variety of other beers, including stouts and lagers. The company started in Brooklyn, New York, in 2014 and has since expanded to multiple locations and built a large following.

Brewery history and mission
Founders: Established in 2014 by Sam Richardson, Matt Monahan, and Andrew Burman.
Origin: The first location was in an industrial garage in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, which, at the time, was not a craft beer hub.

Vision: The founders wanted to create the kinds of bold IPAs that were popular on the West Coast for New York drinkers and to push the boundaries of craft beer.
Collaboration: Other Half frequently collaborates with other breweries worldwide to innovate and advance the craft beer industry.

Beer styles and notable releases
Signature IPAs: The brewery gained fame for its hazy, fruity IPAs and for popularizing the “double-dry-hopped” (DDH) technique. Flagship IPAs include “Green City,” “Forever Ever,” and “All Citra Everything”.
Experimental beers: While known for IPAs, Other Half also brews a diverse range of other styles, such as imperial stouts, lagers, sours, and seltzers.

Unique names and labels: The company is recognized for its modern and eye-catching can designs and clever beer names.

Locations and taprooms
Other Half Brewing has several taprooms and pilot breweries where visitors can sample their beer on draft and purchase cans and merchandise.

Brooklyn, NY (Original): The flagship location at 195 Centre St offers a large selection of draft beers and cans to go.
Brooklyn, NY (Domino Park): This waterfront taproom and pilot brewery focuses on small-batch and experimental beers, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

New York, NY (Rockefeller Center): A taproom serving a rotating selection of IPAs, stouts, and other offerings.
Washington, D.C.: A major production facility and taproom.
Philadelphia, PA: Another East Coast expansion located in Pennsylvania.
Finger Lakes (Bloomfield), NY: A taproom and brewing facility located in New York’s Finger Lakes region.
