Narragansett Fest Märzen Lager Cans Return

More returning craft beer news from Narragansett:

Last year with the Neighbor’s Choice ballots we asked you to vote as to which beers we should bring back that we haven’t brewed in awhile. There was an overwhelming outcry for Fest. We here at ‘Gansett like to make good on our promises. It’s been 3 years since we last brewed this tasty Lager, but it’s making its way back to shelves now. So please, stop yelling at us.

The History: The Narragansett Brewery will always be known as the home to thousands of colorful stories over the course of its incredible history. At least a small truckload of those stories revolve around the Oktoberfest celebrations that would take place on the brewery grounds every fall. Whether it was a slightly out-of-control party on the roof, assorted parking disasters, or just plain old good times eating bratwurst and drinking Gansett Oktoberfest Beer in green velour tyrolean hats & lederhosen, the good times always rolled. And the statue of King Gambrinus, the Patron Saint of Beer, always kept a watchful eye on the festivities at the brewery. So it is fitting that his image graces the label of Gansett Fest as a tribute to both our brewing heritage and the Oktoberfest celebrations of days gone by.

PAWTUCKET, RI  (September 12, 2017) – Hallo Nachbar! Narragansett Beer today announces the return of Fest, a traditional Märzen Lager, just in time for the start of Oktoberfest. After a three-year hiatus that was full of endless demand to bring Fest back, ‘Gansett is resurrecting the award-winning beer that’s fit for King Gambrinus himself.

Now brewed at Narragansett Brewery at The Guild in Pawtucket, Fest is inspired by ‘Gansett’s authentic German heritage. Founded by a group of six German immigrants in 1890, Narragansett’s original Cranston, R.I. brewery was once home to legendary Oktoberfest parties and a towering statue of King Gambrinus, the traditional European cultural icon of beer and revelry.

The 5.5% ABV and 22 IBU amber lager is brewed with Germany’s highest quality hops and malts including Munich malts from Weyermann and Tettnang hops. Together they create a balanced brew with notes of bread and toasted malt to start, followed by a crisp, subtly spiced hop finish.

Narragansett Fest is available in six packs of 12-ounce cans for $8.99-9.99 SRP and on tap at bars and restaurants. It will be distributed throughout Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and select markets in New York and New Jersey. Fest will be available for the remainder of September and October.
