Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Rogue Dreamland American Lager (Review)

I should mention up front that Rogue Ales & Spirits was one of the very first “craft” breweries I encountered, and to this day, they remain one of my favorites.  From my custom-labeled Rogue wedding beer to the Chocolate Stout I met my wife over, Rogue always holds a special place in my beer-heart.
With that in mind, I was very excited to get my hands on a new canned Rogue beer called Dreamland Lager.  I brought you a peek in Aug, so I’ve been anxiously awaiting it’s release.
If’ you’re not familiar, the beer is named for and will benefit Dreamland Skateparks across the country as well as helping to complete phase 2 of the Newport Skatepark.  As Rogue puts it, ““For the last 31 years it has been our privilege to lift up our friends and neighbors by giving back wherever and whenever we could,” says Dharma Tamm, Rogue President. “A few years ago, we learned of the dire state of the Newport Skatepark and made it our goal to improve the park. How do you fund an important cause like this? Beer’s always a good place to start, so we launched Dreamland American Lager – a beer to benefit skateparks in our community and beyond.”

The beer itself is a classic American lager brewed with Synergy Pils and DextraPils malts, corn flakes and Rogue Farms-grown Sterling hops.  The beer pours a rich yellow-gold color with a nice malty profile in the aromas.  Dreamland Lager has a clean and simple flavor profile and a familiar malty and crisp finish.  The beer will hit a sessionable 4.8%-AbV and a really well-balanced 14 IBU making for a really approachable and drinkable beer.

Overall Rogue Dreamland Lager will check a lot of boxes if you love a classic, simple and clean American lager.  It is infinitely drinkable and refreshing and you can’t help but love that this beer is also giving back to the Newport, OR community as well as communities across the U.S.  Dreamland Lager is available now in 12oz cans and draft, with 19.2oz cans coming as well; so get out there and try it for yourself (even if you’re not a skater).  And when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
