Mybeerbuzz.com Highlights Dough Street Cookie Dough & Brookie (Review)

You already know that I enjoy beer and I sample a lot of different beers…but what you may not know is that I’m an avid home baker. I bake a lot of different breads, but when I’m not doing bread, my absolute favorite bake is cookies.

As a kid my mother was really generous with her cookie dough, so I grew up with a teaspoon in my hand trying to max out how much cookie dough I could scoop in one shot (mom’s rules). Later in life, I bake a lot of cookies, but with many doughs having uncooked eggs or flour on-board, I’m always hesitant to eat the raw dough.

With that in mind I was extremely excited to get a chance to sample a wonderful treat from Dough St. Of course I’m talking about edible cookie dough, and if you’re not familiar, Dough St. is Cleveland, OH’s premier edible cookie dough company. Before you even ask, Dough St. used pasteurized egg whites and heat-treated flour to make their dough safe and delicious. All of their treats are Kosher-certified and some are gluten-free and/or even vegan. If that’s not enough, Dough St. cookie dough uses no chemicals, artificial preservatives or dyes.Mybeerbuzz.com Highlights Dough Street Cookie Dough & Brookie (Review)

Today I’ll be sampling Dough St. Sugar Cookie Dough, and while I’m not sure how to describe it beyond saying it’s delicious, I’ll give it a run. The texture is exactly like the cookie dough I remember as a kid, and the flavor is amazing. This dough has sprinkles on-board, so it looks as appealing as it tastes. I promised myself I wouldn’t eat the entire 8oz container, but a few scoops in, I was struggling to leave any behind. This treat has me feeling like a kid in my mom’s kitchen again and I thank Dough St. for sharing that experience.

In addition to Sugar Cookie, Dough St. makes Chocolate Chip, Original, Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Cup (gluten free) and Vegan Chocolate Chip (no dairy) edible cookie doughs. In case you’re wondering, yes you can also bake the dough (350F for 7-10 minutes) and make actual cookies.

Overall I found this edible cookie dough to be one of the tastiest desserts that I’ve enjoyed in a long time…and I eat a LOT of dessert. The delicious dough combined with the childhood flashback to mom’s kitchen made for a really enjoyable experience.Mybeerbuzz.com Highlights Dough Street Cookie Dough & Brookie (Review)

As a bonus, Dough St. included a “Brookie.” If you’re wondering what that is, it’s a combination of a cookie and a brownie (or in this case a blondie) and this one is called The Golden Fix. This Brookie starts out as a normal blondie with a layer of golden sandwich cookies as well as Dough Street’s sugar cookie dough and sprinkles. If that’s not amazing enough, they top this Brookie with white chocolate chips (how did they know I love white chocolate?), a caramel drizzle and even sea salt. This Brookie was an amazing combination of great flavors and textures, and I’m only sorry that I didn’t think of the Brookie idea first. The combination of blondie, cookie dough, white chocolate and salted caramel was divine and delicious, and while I think this was supposed to be a Brookie that had 2 or more servings, I managed to devour it all.

If that’s not tasty enough, Dough St makes Brookies in the Basic B (fudge brownie, edible chocolate chip dough and semi-sweet chocolate chips) and Cookies & Dream (fudge brownies, Oreo cookies and cookies & cream edible cookie dough) flavors as well and they look really delicious too.

A big thank you to Dough St. for sharing these tasty treats with me. Be sure to try Dough Street edible cookie doughs and Brookies for yourself, and when you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
