Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Bell’s Hazy Hearted (Review)

I’ll admit that back in Oct 2022 when I first brought you the news of today’s beer, that I think I started to drool a little.  After all, I do enjoy a good hazy IPA, I do love almost everything Bell’s Brewery produces, and any Bell’s beer with the word “hearted” is right up my alley.

If you haven’t guessed already, today we’re test driving one of the new “hearted” beers coming from Bell’s Brewery…Hazy Hearted. If you’re not familiar, Hazy Hearted is part of the new Bell’s Hearted IPA Variety Pack along with Big Hearted Imperial IPA, Change Of Heart experimental rotating IPA (this edition is a Cold IPA), and of course Two Hearted.

Hazy Hearted is brewed with American and Australian hops (Strata, Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, El Dorado and other varieties) throughout the brewing process….and Bell’s worked for years to “craft a flavorful beer that brings out the fruity taste IPA drinkers love, while maintaining the quality and balance Two hearted IPA fans have come to expect.”

Of course I can’t wait to drink (aka sample) one so off we go…

Bell’s Brewery Hazy Hearted IPA

ABV:  7.5%
Style:  Hazy IPA
Packaging:  12oz cans
Appearance:  Bright hazy golden color
Aroma:  Citrus, mild floral and subtle pine
Mouthfeel:   Soft and really drinkable
Taste:   Bright grapefruit and orange citrus, mild floral hops, mild resinous pine, grassy, crisp and clean
Overall:  Overall I’d say the time perfecting this recipe was well spent and Hazy Hearted is a really fruit-forward, citrus-forward IPA with pots of flavors to love. The push of grapefruit, orange and citrus makes each sip really enjoyable and the only downside I can find is that I may actually like it more than Two hearted (we’ll see on that one). Hazy Hearted is a really drinkable well-balanced hazy IPA and I think it will be finding a permanent place in my ‘fridge.

A big thank you to Bell’s for giving me an early peek at Hazy Hearted, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how cool the stainless Steel tumbler they sent along to enjoy the beer in (see photo above)…it’s a perfect accompaniment to the beer!

Bell’s Brewery Hazy Hearted is available now in 12oz cans in the Hearted IPA Variety Pack so get out there are try one for yourself before they’re gone (19.2oz cans and canned six-packs available at select Michigan retailers).
