Karl Strauss Oktoberfest Keep-The-Stein Promotion Through October
Karl Strauss Oktoberfest Keep-The-Stein Promotion:
Oktoberfest season is officially underway, and Karl Strauss Brewing Company is bringing its annual celebration back to Southern California brewpubs with a lineup built around beer, food and plenty of stein-worthy tradition. For 2026, the San Diego brewery is marking the 38th consecutive year of its Oktoberfest beer while giving fans another reason to raise a glass with a special keep-the-stein promotion.
The German-style Märzen is a classic fall lager, combining toasted malt flavors and nutty undertones with a crisp, clean finish. At 5.0% ABV, it is designed to complement the brewery’s Oktoberfest festivities, while the limited-time Beer Brat Double Smash Burger adds a distinctly Karl Strauss twist to the seasonal celebration.
The stein promotion will be available through October at Karl Strauss’ nine Southern California brewpubs, with 2026 Oktoberfest also available in six-packs throughout California, Arizona and Nevada. With a brewing tradition dating back to the brewery’s 1989 founding, this year’s celebration connects a modern Southern California beer culture with a Märzen tradition that has been part of Karl Strauss’ history from the beginning.
Here’s the official announcement from Karl Strauss Brewing Company detailing its 2026 Oktoberfest celebration:
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Karl Strauss Brewing Company’s nine Southern California brewpubs are offering an Oktoberfest keep-the-stein promotion through October, or while supplies last. Guests can purchase a 0.5-liter stein and fill for $15, or a 1-liter stein and fill for $25. All same-day refills are only $6, which is happy hour pricing.
Karl Strauss brewpubs are located in Anaheim, Corona, Costa Mesa, Los Angeles (Downtown), San Diego (4S Ranch, Carlsbad, Downtown, Sorrento Mesa), and Temecula.
Oktoberfest is 5.0% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), and it has a golden amber color. The German-style Märzen lager features a blend of Vienna and Munich hops, along with Perle hops imported from the Hallertau region of Germany. It has toasted malt flavors, nutty undertones, and a crisp, clean finish.
This is the 38th consecutive year Karl Strauss has released an Oktoberfest beer. Karl M. Strauss escaped Nazi Germany in 1939 and came to the United States, eventually helping co-founders Chris Cramer and Matt Rattner open the microbrewery with his namesake in 1989 after a decades-long career at Pabst Brewing Company in Milwaukee.
Karl M. Strauss served as the brewery’s Master Brewer from its founding until 2006. The first version of an Oktoberfest beer, “Blonde Bavarian Oktoberfest Beer”, was released the year the brewery was founded.
The 2026 Oktoberfest also is available in six packs of 12-oz bottles at the brewpubs, as well as retail outlets throughout California, Arizona, and Nevada. For a store finder, visit www.karlstrauss.com/find-karl/.
The keep-the-stein promotion is applicable to Oktoberfest, as well as Karl Strauss core beers Red Trolley Ale, Follow the Sun Lager, Tower X West Coast IPA, Boat Shoes Hazy IPA, Aurora Hoppyalis IPA, Mosaic IPA, Windansea Wheat, House Blonde, and Karlito’s Mexican Lager.
Also, for a limited time, the Oktoberfest-themed Beer Brat Double Smash Burger also is available at Karl Strauss brewpubs. The seasonal special includes a beer bratwurst smash patty, ground steak trim beef patty, IPA mushrooms, Havarti & cheddar cheese, pickled onions, bitter greens, tomato, and mustard aioli – all on a toasted pretzel bun and served with a side of fries.
Karl Strauss was voted 2026 Best Mico Brew Pub in The San Diego Union-Tribune’s “San Diego’s Best, U-T Readers Poll.”
The official 2026 Oktoberfest festival in Munich, Germany, takes place from September 19 – October 4. This year marks the 191st iteration.
