Indeed Brewing Mr. Northeast Pageant Returns for Second Year of Competition

MINNEAPOLIS, AUGUST 24, 2017: Walking on nails with a million dollar scowl, there he is, Mr. Northeast. When asked he can discuss craft brewing for hours while stroking his luxurious facial hair. Dressed in only his finest flannel, Mr. Northeast is looking for the kind of love you can only find at bar close. From the wrong side of the tracks, collecting vinyl before it was cool, more legend than mere mortal, he’s got what it takes to represent his corner of the city. He’ll take the town by storm, with his all-American face and form, he’s Mr. Northeast!
It’s that special time of year when the men of Minneapolis’ most niche neighborhood descend on Grumpy’s Northeast to compete before a panel of celebrity judges in such distinguished categories as “Fashion,” “Talent,” and "Question and Answer" to capture fame, fortune, and a year’s worth of beer. After all, Northeast is not just a neighborhood, it’s a lifestyle. This year’s distinguished judging panel includes Lori Barbero (Babes in Toyland), Ward 1 Council Member Kevin Reich, Robyne Robinson (Formerly of Fox 9), Jana Shortal (Kare 11), and Tony Zaccardi (Romantica). Last year’s event sold out, and raised over $3,000 for East Side Neighborhood Services.
The Mr. Northeast 2017 Pageant is now open for registration. Eligible contestants are 21 years of age or older, identify as male, and live in Northeast Minneapolis. Interested parties must submit answers to a brief set of thoughtful questions and pay a $10 registration fee. Ten contestants will be chosen by the Mr. Northeast committee to compete in the finals. All registration fees, as well as the $5 door on the day of the event will directly benefit East Side Neighborhood Services. Registration closes on Saturday, September 9th, and the pageant takes place September 23rd.
