Hi-Wire Brewing: Pickleball, Golf Simulators, E-Bikes and Beer Collide in an Exciting New Concept in Asheville’s River Arts District
Ace & Eagle, a new social sports club, opens doors at Hi-Wire’s RAD campus — “Making Play a Work of Art”
ASHEVILLE, North Carolina— (October 20, 2025) — The River Arts District (RAD) continues to rise—stronger, more connected, and more creative than ever. After a season of rebuilding and resilience in the wake of Hurricane Helene, a new wave of energy is rising in RAD. Ace & Eagle, Asheville’s newest social sports club, invites the community to its grand opening celebration on Saturday, November 1st, from 1-7PM. In a new partnership with Hi-Wire Brewing, the sports club is located on the premises of Hi-Wire’s RAD Beer Garden at 284 Lyman St, alongside the new location for The Flying Bike e-bike tour company. Together these partnerships create a campus for fun and community.
The event will feature a full day of community fun — from a pickleball tournament with Asheville Pickleball Association and free access to golf simulators and billiards, to live DJ sets with DJ Meow Meow, local vendors, food trucks, raffles, giveaways, and even a morning Pilates class with Move Club. It’s a day designed to bring people together again — to play, move, connect, and celebrate a new energy rising in the RAD.
This special partnership is more than a grand opening — it’s a symbol of recovery, collaboration, and the shared belief that Asheville thrives when its community moves, connects, and plays together.
“After the floods, we saw our community come together in ways that reminded us why Asheville is so special,” said Ace & Eagle Founder, Nick Hinton. “Partnering with Hi-Wire Brewing and The Flying Bike for this grand opening is our way of helping to bring the heart — and the fun — back to the RAD.”
Just one year ago, this same block along Lyman Street sat underwater — the Hi-Wire RAD Beer Garden and neighboring businesses were hit hard by historic flooding. Now, the area is coming back stronger, united by creativity, play, and the spirit of local collaboration. The partnership between Ace & Eagle, Hi-Wire Brewing, and The Flying Bike represents a shared vision for what community renewal can look like — one powered by movement, laughter, and connection.
That sense of renewal isn’t just about rebuilding structures — it’s about rebuilding rhythm, intention, and joy. As co-founder Ben Schoenberg explains, Ace & Eagle aims to honor the creative heartbeat of the district while offering a new kind of space for connection and play. “RAD is a place where locals and visitors come to connect with art, expression, and the present moment. Artists offer society a powerful gift — the invitation to slow down, reflect, and engage with meaning through their work. At Ace & Eagle, we share that same spirit. Our goal is to slow down the way our customers and community experience time by creating a space where play and connection push back on the stressors of modern life,” said Schoenberg.
The River Arts District has long been Asheville’s creative heartbeat — and like any heartbeat, it needs movement. This grand opening marks a pivotal step that celebrates the return of vitality, movement, and connection to the River Arts District. It’s a call to locals and visitors alike: come play, come move, come celebrate what makes Asheville special.
For Hi-Wire Brewing, the collaboration is more than just an event — it’s a continuation of the community spirit that carried them through their own rebuild earlier this year. “We’re so excited for these new partnerships with both Ace & Eagle and The Flying Bike,” said Adam Charnack, Co-Owner and CEO of Hi-Wire Brewing. “When we reopened, we knew we wanted to use our extra space to help other businesses add to the RAD’s recovery. It’s very exciting to see Ace & Eagle opening their doors, and The Flying Bike activating their new location.”
The celebration also marks the new location of The Flying Bike Electric Bike Tours, offering free ride demos and discounted rentals throughout the event to encourage visitors to explore the district by bike once again.
Together, these three local businesses are bringing a new canvas to the River Arts District— championing collaboration, movement, and community in one of Asheville’s most creative districts.
Join the celebration. Support local. And cheers to the new RAD — Where art, play, and pints collide.

About Ace & Eagle
Founded in 2025, Ace & Eagle is Asheville’s newest hub for social sports and local connection. Combining the spirit of play with the warmth of community, the venue offers indoor golf simulators, pickleball courts, billiards, and an inviting lounge space.
Ace & Eagle was built on a simple but powerful idea: create a space where golf, games, and good company come together. It began as the shared passion of three friends — golf, pickleball, and pool — that evolved into a mission to build an experience that feels less like a business and more like hanging out with old friends.
Today, Ace & Eagle stands as a passion project fueled by friendship, vision, and community. In partnership with Hi-Wire Brewing, the team is honored to help reimagine and rebuild the River Arts District after Hurricane Helene, bringing new energy, connection, and play to Asheville. As part of that commitment, Ace & Eagle is proud to feature works by local artists throughout the space and to have partnered with local craftspeople and businesses in the rebuild — ensuring every detail reflects the heart of the community it serves.
Located within the Hi-Wire Brewing RAD campus, Ace & Eagle offers a reimagined space where recreation meets chic relaxation. Guests can enjoy indoor golf simulators, outdoor pickleball courts, and billiards alongside local beer and cocktails from Hi-Wire Brewing — all designed to create an inclusive hub for locals and visitors alike.
