Grand Teton Brewing Cancels 2015 Holiday Ale

Unfortunately, our Coming Home 2015 Holiday Ale did not meet our quality standards and will not be released this year. At Grand Teton Brewing, we  pride ourselves on maintaining high quality standards. Please look for the next release in our Cellar Reserve series, Double Vision Dopplebock, which will be available February 15, 2016.

Here at Grand Teton Brewing, we are expanding and exploring the realm of wood aging our beers. We have been releasing barrel aged beers for several years now, primarily on draft. It is only recently, however, that we have ramped up our wood aging program, or as we like to call it: The Wood Cellar.
In the past 18 months, The Wood Cellar has grown from 20 barrels to over 140. The barrels vary from American, French, and Hungarian Oak; some have previously held Whiskey, Bourbon, Rum, or Wine. Each barrel is unique and our Wood Cellar staff becomes familiar with each barrel and its unique and sometimes subtle characteristics.

We separate our barrels into "clean" and "sour" sections to prevent any cross contamination. A "clean" barrel means that beer put into the barrel is intended to only obtain wood and/or wine/spirit flavors. The most recent example is our Whiskey Barrel Aged Black Cauldron. Weighing in at 10.25% ABV, this is a draft beer you’ll want to look out for because it makes for the perfect cold weather sipper.

The first bottle release from the Grand Teton Wood Cellar was Grand Teton American Sour under the Brewers’ Series label.
