Goose Island – He Spit in his Face? – Cascara Grisette (Video)
From Goose Island:
At the corner of Fulton & Wood streets in Chicago, Goose Island’s original brewery has been a hub of innovation since its doors opened. To this day, the spirit of experimentation remains strong with the Fulton & Wood series. Each release gives Goose Island employees the chance to work with our brewers to generate new, exciting beers from scratch
Goose Island’s Cascara Grisette is a truly unique take on an uncommon beer style. The Grisette style, originally brewed for miners in Belgium’s Hainaut province, is a type of Saison that was served to miners after a hard day’s work. Some say the term Grisette refers to the “grey” rock dust found on the miners. Cascara is a dried fruit from coffee cherries which are usually discarded after harvesting the coffee. With the addition of cascara, Goose Island’s Cascara Grisette is a crisp and refreshing, dry ale with hibiscus and raspberry notes.
