Freekin’ Rican Puerto Rican Food Truck has a new, permanent home at Center of the Universe
Brewing Company

Ashland, Virginia, September 17, 2019; Center of the Universe Brewing Company (COTU) is excited to
announce a new, permanent food vendor operating out of the COTU tasting room. What started as a
small food cart that frequented COTU Brewing company has now become a permanent offering at the
Ashland brewery. Freekin’ Rican has set-up shop in what was once the “Beer Window” off the COTU
Biergarten. Now outfitted with a small kitchen set-up, Freekin’ Rican is serving the brewery’s customers
seven days a week during tasting room hours.

“Freekin’ Rican has been a dependable constant here at COTU. Our regulars just love Joe and his
delicious food! I am so happy to have a partnership with Freekin’ Rican that allows us to offer food
during taproom hours seven days a week,” says Larissa Anderson, General Manager of Center of the
Universe Brewing Company

“We are so excited about teaming up with Center of the Universe to serve our food there daily. With
great ownership and a great team, COTU provides some of the best crafted beer in the Richmond area.
We cannot wait to pair our Puerto Rican fusion cuisine with their vast selection to offer customers a
truly unique drinking and dining experience," says Joe Birriel, owner of Freekin’ Rican.

COTU and Freekin’ Rican invite you to come celebrate the Grand Opening on Sunday, October 6 from
12-8pm with fun activities for all and plenty of Freekin’ Rican’s unique Latin faire. Activities include:
 12-2pm: Salsa demos in the private events room
 2-6pm: Beer, Bingo and Bloodies with special prizes
 Special, limited return of Monkey’s Uncle Lemongrass Tripel and Summer Moon Raspberry

Freekin’ Rican Menu
 Cerdo Rico – Succulent pork marinated in garlic and island herbs and then slow roasted to
perfection. Served with rice, black beans, and plantains.
 Pollo Loco – Tender chicken breast marinated in citric juices and island herbs served with rice,
black beans, and plantains.
 Freekadilla – Pork or chicken, rice, beans, and Pico de Gallo served in a grilled tortilla.
 Freekin’ Nachos – Puerto Rican style nachos loaded with beans, rice, Pico de Gallo, and meat of
your choice.
 Freekin’ Burger – Quarter pound Angus beef topped with bacon and Queso Blanco.
 Boriqua’ Brats – Two grilled bratwursts served with Queso Blanco, spicy mustard, and mango
habanero sauce.
 Freeky Tacos – Three tacos filled with Queso Blanco, rice, beans, and chorizo hash.

 Puerto Rican Sandwich – Crispy pork, Queso Blanco, bacon and pickle served on a toasted
Ciabatta roll.

Freekin’ Rican will also be offering the following weekly promotions starting October 8
 Taco Tuesdays: $3 tacos – Choose from chicken, pork, or chorizo hash.
 Tapas Thursdays: $5 tapas – Enjoy a variety of small plates for just $5 per plate.
