Fáilte! Portland’s Irish Festival Promises Five Days of Irish Charm, Culture and Craic

PORTLAND, Ore. — February 26, 2026 — Thousands of celebrants will gather at three Portland locations from Friday, March 13 through Tuesday, March 17, 2026, for an immersion in Irish music, dancing, food, drink and cultural activities at Portland’s Irish Festival, the Northwest’s largest Saint Patrick’s Day celebration.

The five-day festival takes place simultaneously at:
Kells Irish Pub, 112 SW 2nd Ave.
Kells Brewery, 210 NW 21st Ave.
Tom McCall Waterfront Park


HIGHLIGHT EVENTS

Friday, March 13: Boxing
The festival commences with the annual Ireland vs. USA amateur boxing event, featuring Golden Gloves boxers from Ireland challenging the best amateur fighters of the Northwest.

All activities take place under the giant festival tent at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
Doors open: 5 p.m.
Opening ceremonies: 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 14; Family Day
Family Day takes place at the Kells Waterfront Tent from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to all ages. Attendees will enjoy food and libations, live Irish music, traditional Irish dancing, bagpipes, and interactive activities, including participation from Eastside Timbers Youth Soccer Club.

Featured partners include The Hedge School, local arts and crafts vendors, face painting, handmade goods, cultural community groups and local artisans. There is no cover until 5 p.m.

At 5 p.m., the festivities continue for the 21+ crowd at all three locations with high-energy music, food and dancing. Headline band Super Diamond performs at 9:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 15: Post-Shamrock Run Party
The morning begins with the Shamrock Run, finishing at the Waterfront Tent. Participants can celebrate under the Kells Waterfront Tent or head to the two Kells locations to continue the revelry.

All Sunday events are open to all ages, with no cover charge.

Monday, March 16: Celebrate at the Brewery
The celebration continues at Kells Brewery on NW 21st, while Kells on SW 2nd closes to prepare for St. Patrick’s Day.

Tuesday, March 17: St. Patrick’s Day
Kells on SW 2nd and Kells Brewery on NW 21st share the action on the holiday itself. Guests will enjoy festive Irish music, dancers, food and drink at both locations from 11 a.m. until the wee hours.

NONPROFIT PARTNER

The beloved “Green Rain” tradition of removing the donated money placed on the ceiling of Kells  continues this year. For 25 years, Kells has collected and matched donations during the Irish Festival through the Kells for Kids Fund, benefiting the Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center. Kells has donated more than $250,000 through this fundraiser over the years. The Green Rain collection will be added to donations during the festival. 


SAFE RIDE HOME

Kells has partnered with the City of Portland to help festival goers get home safely. Riders can get up to $20 off a taxi fare with a paper coupon or $10 off an Uber or Lyft ride with a promo code for rides starting in Portland city limits. Valid dates are Friday, March 13 at 5 p.m. through Monday, March 17, 2026 at 3am. While supplies last. Details are available on the City of Portland website.
