Dogfish Head Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits is BACK

From Dogfish Head:

We’re excited to be bringing back our annual Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits, but even more SPIRITED than ever before! This isn’t the same #WOCAAS you are used to … it’s bigger, better and even more off-centered. So, what do you say? Are you ready for a jam-packed weekend of creative libations, delicious food, and whatnot?! Known to spotlight our brewery’s most off-centered libations and delectable beer-inspired food pairings, is officially slated for May 5-7 happening throughout our coastal Delaware properties. The very spirited festival folks have come to know, and love will now include a Kick-Off Party, a brand-new Walking & Tasting Experience, a special brunch, and the release of Summer’s Cauldron, a new Limoncello-style gin, concocted in collaboration with New Hampshire-based Fabrizia Spirits. We’re also thrilled to host cocktail expert, Mia Mastroianni, best known for her time on the hit reality show, Bar Rescue, who will be crafting new cocktail recipes for this year’s festival.   zzubreebym

Tickets for Dogfish Head’s Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits are on sale now. All events are ticketed separately.

Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits Schedule

Exclusive Off-Centered Releases

We also have an exciting line-up of brand-new off-centered ales and spirits, releasing on Friday, May 5, that we can’t wait for you to try!

  • Summer’s Cauldron – A collaboration of spirits and family, lovingly crafted into one bottle, Summer’s Cauldron (46% ABV) is a trans-Atlantic handshake of flavors created by Dogfish Head Founder & Brewer, Sam Calagione, and his cousins, Fabrizia Spirits Owners, Phil and Nick Mastroianni. Distilled with real Sicilian lemons from Fabrizia’s very own lemon grove in Italy, juniper, lemon drop hops, lavender, and pink and Timur peppercorns, this Limoncello-style gin is the perfect light and easy drink for this year’s Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits. Unfiltered to ensure maximum flavor and brightness, it can be enjoyed straight, over ice or in a gin cocktail. Folks can grab to-go bottles of Summer’s Cauldron exclusively at Dogfish Head’s coastal Delaware properties beginning Friday, May 5. Cocktails containing Summer’s Cauldron will also be available for on-site consumption at Dogfish Head’s Chesapeake & Maine, Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats and the Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen during the Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits. Summer’s Cauldron is priced at $40 per 750mL bottle. Only about 800 bottles available!

  • The Magic That Fuels Everyday Actions – (4.75% ABV) is an ale inspired by Picasso’s food-centric art. Our talented Dogfish Head designers created a label filled with colorful, Picasso-inspired art that our brewers used as inspiration for the imaginative, culinary-inspired beer behind it. This beer is brewed with grape juice, lime juice and apple puree. Cooked, brewed, or fermented, food is the magic that fuels everyday actions. The Magic That Fuels Everyday Actions will be available on draft, for on-site consumption, at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth brewpub and to-go in 4pk/16 oz. cans at Dogfish Head’s Off-Centered EmPOURium.

  • Licor de Malta – (7% ABV) combines a Mexican-style malt liquor and a chelada, a Mexican beer cocktail. This tasty, hybrid offering is brewed with heirloom corn, lime juice and tajin. Licor De Malta Chelada will be available on draft, for on-site consumption and to-go in 40 oz. bottles at Dogfish Head’s Tasting Room & Kitchen. Priced at $12 per bottle.

  • CocoAmburana – (10.6% ABV) Stout aged in bourbon barrels with Amburana wood that imparts notes of baking spices & gingerbread. Heaps of cocoa nibs & Madagascar vanilla beans were added after a year in the barrels, taking the decadence from 10 to 11. CocoAmburana will be available on draft, for on-site consumption and to-go in 500 mL. bottles at Dogfish Head’s Tasting Room & Kitchen. Priced at $25 per bottle.

Friday, May 5 – Kick-off Party at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth Restaurants

New at this year’s festival, Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth restaurants, Brewings & Eats and Chesapeake & Maine, introduce an all-you-care to eat (and drink) Kick-Off Party. Happening on Friday, May 5, from 7-10 p.m., folks can enjoy an array of culinary options at both restaurants, with Chesapeake & Maine serving up seafood-centric dishes, including seafood paella and raw bar offerings, while Brewings & Eats will offer a slider bar, build your own pasta bowl and more pub fare options. And what’s a Kick-Off Party without dessert?! A variety of dessert options, including a special beer float, will be served in the courtyard, located between both restaurants. In addition to some great eats, guests can enjoy local libations and the first taste of Summer’s Cauldron. Of course, you can’t enjoy all the goodness without a little music to accompany you, DJ Shady Lady will be mixing it up at Brewings & Eats and Back Bay Trio will be providing the sweet melodies at Chesapeake & Maine. Beer & Benevolence will also be joining in on the fun of WOCAAS, 10% of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to our non-profit friends the Delaware Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Tickets are available HERE for $100 per person. Drinks included in cost of ticket.

Saturday, May 6 – Walking & Tasting Experience at Dogfish Head’s Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen

Lace up those walking shoes and grab a tasting glass! On Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.*., folks can experience Dogfish Head’s Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits in an exciting new way, with a self-guided Walking & Tasting Experience. Over the course of the tour, guests will venture throughout Dogfish Head’s Milton Brewery & Distillery, stopping at 12 unique stations, where you’ll be greeted with sample pours of off-centered beers, spirits or cocktails, and thoughtfully paired culinary bites. Tickets include 12 rare beer or spirit samples, 12 food pairings, a commemorative glass and a tasting card.

Tickets are available HERE, priced at $65 per person. Designated driver tickets are also available for $35 per person, and include 12 food samples, non-alcoholic beverages at Dogfish Head’s Tasting Room and a commemorative glass. Tours of Dogfish Head’s Steampunk Treehouse are also available upon request.

*Guests will be given designated times of entry for the Weekend of Compelling Ales & Spirits Walking & Tasting Experience.

Sunday, May 7 – Brunch at Dogfish Head’s Chesapeake & Maine

To close out the weekend, Chesapeake & Maine is throwing its first ever brunch bash on Sunday, May 7, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The full menu will be available soon, but there are sure to be mimosas! Reservations should be secured by phone, give us a jingle at 302-226-3600.
