Chuckanut Gold Label Czech Pilsner Released / Chuckanut Taps N. German-Style Pilsener Collab
Chuckanut Brewery is pleased to announce they have released the Gold Medal Czech Pilsner collaboration with Japan’s Yokohama Bay Brewery. The beer was chosen as an official lager for the Japan Brewers Cup in Yokohama February 6-8th. Chuckanut’s brewery friends in Japan will be offering the Gold Medal Pilsner before, during and after the festival around Tokyo, Yokohama and further abroad. And Gold Medal is also available on tap and in cans around WA, OR and CA. This premium Czech-Style Pilsner balances rich, bready malts with spicy Saaz hops. It delivers a crisp and refreshing finish with a distinctive floral bitterness. More body and malty flavors then either Chuckanut’s or Yokohama’s World Beer Cup Gold Medal winning Bohemian Pilsners.
Yokohama Bay and Chuckanut have been friends for many years. Owner and beermaster for Yokohama Bay, Shinya Suzuki believes Will Kemper, owner and brewmaster of Chuckanut, to be an important influence and mentor in his growth as a brewer of lagers and specifically pilsner beers. They’ve remained friends over the years by sharing their love of great lager beers. The main ingredients in Gold Label Czech Pilsner includes Pilsner and Carafoam malts with Saaz and Tettnanger hops. Gold Label pairs excellently with Fish and Chips or grilled lemon-herb chicken. Refreshingly thirst quenching on its own, try it while still on tap and in cans and enjoy a well crafted pilsner beer!
Chuckanut Brewery brews award winning Lagers and Ales and has won Large Brewery of the Year at WA Beer Awards 2017, 2019 and 2021 and Small Brewery at the GABF 2011 and 2009. About Chuckanut Brewery:
The Kempers and the Birth of Chuckanut Brewery
The story of Chuckanut Brewery is inextricably linked to the pioneering spirit of Mari and Will Kemper, two individuals who have indelibly shaped the landscape of American craft beer. Their journey began in the 1980s when they co-founded Thomas Kemper Brewery, a seminal force in the Northwest’s burgeoning craft beer scene. This venture marked the beginning of their lifelong passion for brewing and a testament to their entrepreneurial spirit.
Following their time at Thomas Kemper, the Kempers embarked on a series of adventures that would further solidify their expertise in the industry. Will became a sought-after consultant, helping to establish breweries across the country and even internationally.
