CAN RELEASE:
Catawba Brewing releases their new Festbier Lager (5.3 percent ABV) on Friday, August 18, at all locations. Brewed according to modern day Bavarian standards, the Catawba Festbier represents a lighter, more sessionable evolution of the classic Märzen style. This easy-drinker showcases its distinctive Vienna malt character. Balanced with a touch of Noble hop bitterness, it finishes smooth and clean. Festbier makes its debut in 5-state distribution in 2017. Find it on draft and in 6-pack cans wherever Catawba beers are sold through September. 
SMALL BATCH:
On Thursday, August 17, Catawba taps their Small Batch Urban Trail Session IPA (5.1 percent ABV). Brewed in partnership with the Asheville Downtown Association, Catawba will donate $1 from each pint sold to the Asheville City Schools Foundation. The beer highlights the aromas and flavor notes of fresh Ekuanot hops, creating a medley of melon, citrus, tropical fruits, and resin – with a hint of peppery spice. This experimental hop variety was developed in the Pacific Northwest’s Yakima Valley, and introduced in 2014.—-
Urban Trail Session IPA is Passport Beer #33 in Catawba’s 2017 Small Batch rewards program. Brewed in their Asheville South Slope brewhouse, the beer is available in Catawba’s four tasting rooms, and in limited distribution.
