Cantillon Zwanze Day 2022 Coming To Jester King

Announcing Cantillon Zwanze Day 2022 on Saturday, September 24th! Zwanze Day is when Brasserie Cantillon in Brussels, Belgium simultaneously releases a special beer at a select group of locations around the world. We’re honored and grateful to be one of the locations this year. Here’s Cantillon’s description of 2022 Zwanze: zzubreebym

“This year’s Zwanze is a two-year-old Lambic blend with black pepper. For this year’s beer, we worked with Sandrine from Misao: La Maison des Poivres here in Brussels.

Sandrine had us try various types of Congolese pepper, and we eventually decided on one called poivre de Gorilles.

This pepper grows wild in the forests of the Republic of the Congo. Aromatic, but not too spicy, it blends beautifully with the refreshing acidity of our Lambic. The result is a beer that will pair marvelously with meat or fish.

The name poivre de Gorilles comes from the area where it grows, in Likouala Forest, located in the northeastern region of the Republic of the Congo. This forest is home to a significant population of Lowland gorillas – a species in danger of extinction. That’s why we’ll be donating a portion of the profits from the event to Gorilla, an organization that works to protect these Great Apes. Santeï !!“

• Manzanilla is a Lambic aged in Manzanilla barrel

• Sang Bleu is a mix of Lambic with blue honeysuckle

• Piacere is a mix of Lambic with Ciliegiolo grapes

• Couvreur is a Lambic aged in a whisky barrel coming from the French whisky maker Couvreur.

How it works:

• Check in at our host stand in the Pole Barn to receive your 21+ stamp.

• 300 Zwanze 2022 commemorative glasses will be available for sale at Jester King Brewery on 9/24/22 starting at 11am CST. Purchase required for tasting. Available first come, first serve.

• Glasses will be sold and beer poured at Brewery Bar, directly outside our brewhouse and next to the Beer Garden (see map).

• Manzanilla, Sang Bleu, Piacere, Couvreur will be available starting at 11am CST at Brewery Bar.

• Zwanze will be available starting at 2pm CST at Brewery Bar.

• We have 300 glasses available. Each glass is $30.

• Purchase of the glass gets you one pour (5oz each) of all 5 options until we run out.

We’ll have a special lineup of Jester King beers, which we’ll announce closer to Zwanze Day. In addition to our full food menu, our kitchen will be serving up pizzas, BBQ, and baked goods.
