Brick Brewing Voices Support for Changes to Beer Retailing in Ontario

George Croft, President and Chief Executive Officer at Brick Brewing commented, "Today we’re seeing the outcomes of the work done by the Premier’s advisory council. It has taken considerable time and effort to get to this point, the challenges and complexity were considerable, but the finished product represents a step change for the craft beer industry. On behalf of our customers, employees and shareholders, I would like to extend our thanks to Mr. Clark and the council members for their efforts."

"This is a great day for beer drinkers and beer makers in Ontario. There will be more choice. More convenience. And more brewery jobs. Brick Brewing was an enthusiastic contributor to this long-awaited change that was ultimately moved forward thanks to the dedication and commitment of Ed Clark and his motivated team. We’re pleased to see such important changes in our home province. In the last four years Brick has invested over $15 million in our operations, to allow us to be more competitive, to serve our customers, and to grow our business here at home in Ontario," said Croft.

"The introduction of beer to the grocery channel, increased shelf space for small craft brewers, improved governance at the Beer Store, and the overall reduction in costs for small brewers — these are all meaningful and welcome changes for both beer drinkers and brewers. The stage is now set for continued growth for the craft beer category in the province, and we’re excited about what the future holds," continued Mr. Croft.
