BrewDog Releases Kamikaze Knitting Club

From BrewDog:

We had a blast brewing our limited-edition Wild Card releases last year, and the next quartet of small-batch brews are locked and loaded for 2018. Coming up as part of the canned series we have an oyster stout, a hugely dry pale ale and a West Coast IPA. But the series begins with a truly epic 7.5% ABV maple stout.

Kamikaze Knitting Club is out now.

Our latest beer is perfect for those struggling to find the first light of spring, as it combines dark malts with that most classic of Canadian exports – maple syrup. The result is a warming, slightly smoky stout bookended by flavours of chocolate and coffee, but one with a unique addition that keeps the beer away from descending into syrupy sweetness – the mighty Sorachi Ace.

Yes the herbal, citrusy, coconutty hop from Japan has been deployed into the beer to mellow the syrup and unleash the woodsy, dry character of the maple. It gives a beer with a subtle smokiness as a point of balance between the sweet and the roast from the Cara, Chocolate and Carafa malts. At 30 IBUs Kamikaze Knitting Club is massively rewarding; and a beer that perfectly sums up the change from winter into spring (which is on the way, apparently).

You can buy Kamikaze Knitting Club in 330ml cans online right now and the beer has already launched on draft across our network of BrewDog bars, so head to your nearest to discover how it tastes on tap – if you haven’t already. As ever, if you have, be sure and leave us your tasting notes in the comments below!
