Breaker Brewing Co – Update !

On the surface this photo may not make much sense to anyone just tuning in. On Thursday, I posted a thread reminding everyone that Breaker Brewing will again be involved in a zoning appeal hearing on Feb 14th, 7PM @ The Wilkes-Barre Twp Municipal Building. The thread ignited an onslaught of comments and discussion from residents, families, friends and even the mother of Edward Collum (the former resident that is appealing the original zoning results.) You can check out the full story & comments here. As of this writing there are over 120 comments so it’s a great read.
As part of that discussion, Mrs. Collum felt very strongly that what she found disrespectful about the use of the former church as part of the future Breaker Brewing property, was the inscription “My God My All” that the diocese chose not to remove. The diocese DID remove what they considered “religious artifacts,” but left the inscription in tact. I spoke with Mark & Chris yesterday, and they agreed to extend an olive branch and take the time to remove the lettering that Mrs. Collum was so concerned about. As it turns out the letters were decals and have been removed already as you can see. The guys also tell me that as soon as things warm up a bit (yes one of the things they are still working on is heat) they will also be painting the area.
I want to thank Mark & Chris for taking the time AND making this gesture and I personally want to thank everyone who has taken the time & energy to comment on the previous thread in their support of Mark & Chris, as well as Mrs. Collum for her participation. I’m confident things will work out for everyone involved and I’ll see you all Tuesday to witness it in person.
