Boulevard Brewing Releasing Dubai-Style Chocolate Ale 1/30/26

Today I have some exciting chocolate news coming from Boulevard Brewing in Kansas City, Missouri:

Trendy? Maybe. Decadent? Definitely.

Some things don’t need trends to prove they’re iconic. Crocodiles have been around for millions of years. Pistachios and chocolate? Also timeless, if not quite Jurassic. And while trends come and go, the really good stuff always sticks around, usually bigger, bolder, and harder to ignore. Kind of like spotting a crocodile in the wild. It’s rare, it’s unforgettable, and when it happens… you’d better be ready.

That energy is exactly what inspired this beer. Long before pistachio-chocolate combos started popping up all over TikTok and dessert menus, we were already obsessed with how naturally indulgent, nutty, and rich those flavors are together. Our brewers are flavor makers at heart, and sometimes a pairing is so good, it demands to be translated into beer.

Enter our Dubai-Style Chocolate Ale, an Imperial Oat Stout, clocking in at a fearless 13.5% ABV.  Inspired by Dubai Chocolate, a viral sensation named after its Middle Eastern origins, specifically a thick chocolate bar filled with creamy pistachio paste, and shredded phyllo dough. To recreate the phyllo, we started with a hefty malt bill, layered with generous portions of body-enhancing malted and flaked oats, which add a silky and rich mouthfeel to the beer. To emulate the flavors of Dubai-style chocolate we brewed with brown sugar, cacao nibs, pistachios, and pistachio flour.  This one drinks like a decadent dessert with serious depth—luxuriously smooth, layered, and unapologetically bold.
