The way we see it, beer can improve Alaskans’ access to knowledge. For every glass of Alaska 8 Star Lager sold at 49th State Brewing pubs through September 30th, we’ll donate $1 to Alaska Public Media. Alaska Public Media, which is at risk of losing funding due to recent budget cuts, offers a wealth of free programming to the public through television broadcasting, radio, news, and beyond. Their programming reaches 97% of Alaska’s population, a notable achievement.

We believe that everyone should have access to free information and knowledge without an agenda. Due to Alaska’s remote location and the large percentage of our population living off the road system, it’s even more important that Alaskans have ways to stay connected with the rest of the world. You can help maintain that connection by visiting our pubs and ordering an Alaska 8 Star Lager, a crisp, refreshing frontier-style lager brewed for our great state. 

We’re also donating 2.5% of the sales of Alaska 8 Star Lager kegs to bars and restaurants across the state to Alaska Public Media as part of this initiative, so be sure to ask for Alaska 8 Star Lager at your local watering hole.
