Just over 6 months ago we released our first Limited Release Barrel Aged Beer.We are now on our third release and are changing things up with Sea Monster. But before we get too excited, maybe it’s time for a refresher on our aging program.
While we began aging beer in small batches over 15 years ago, our official Barrel Aged Program only began in 2012. It has grown to include over 650 oak barrels at a time rotating with 25 to 30 different styles of beer in 10 to 15 different styles of oak casks. Whether stored in the previous home to one of our spirits or the former vessel for a Kentucky bourbon, each batch of our barrel-aged beer has a tale to tell. You’ll never have an aged release exactly like the one before.
Our third release is a Willett Bourbon Aged Sea Monster Imperial stout aged in Bourbon Oak Casks. A distinct bourbon oak aroma with a vanilla and dark fruit back bone with smooth tannins round off the dark chocolate notes with a soft presence of smoke and oak. At 12.2% ABV this rendition of Sea Monster lives up to its name. We will have it for sale at each of our locations (limit two per person) on Saturday, 10/8. Plus if you decide to stay for some grub at our kitchenlocations (Miramar, Temecula, Little Italy and Long Beach), you try out some food specials featuring this latest brew to boot.
