Today I have a returning DIPA coming from Ballast Point Brewing in San Diego, California. This is Imperial Sculpin, and it will be a double IPA that will hit 8.5%-AbV. The beer will be packaged in 12-oz cans by Figueroa Mountain Brewing in Buellton, California, and stay tuned here for more details.

About Ballast Point Brewing:
Ballast Point Brewing is a San Diego-based brewery founded in 1996 by homebrewers who started a shop called Home Brew Mart. It is known for its Sculpin IPA, and it has undergone ownership changes, including an acquisition by Kings & Convicts Brewing Co.. The brewery’s name comes from the area on Point Loma where explorer Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo first landed in California.
Origins: Started in 1996 as a homebrew supply store in San Diego, with brewing operations added in the back.
