MUNCIE, IN July 07, 2015 – Ardagh Group, Glass – North America, a division of Ardagh Group and a leading producer of glass containers for the food and beverage industries in the United States, today announced the debut of its American made 64oz Growler.

Brewpubs, breweries and grocery stores around the country are cashing in on the growing popularity of growlers, a term that dates back to the 19th Century when fresh beer was carried from the local pub to one’s home in a small galvanized pail. According toBerAdvocate, the Growler term originated from the sound CO2 made when it escaped from the lid as the beer sloshed around, making a growling sound.

Unique within the craft beer industry, Ardagh Group’s Growler has a three-finger handle for gripping ease. Additionally, it has a fill-line capacity indicator, noting the appropriate six percent headspace allotment to help prevent overfilling.

Manufactured in the United States, Ardagh Group’s 64oz amber glass Growler is available for purchase on Ardagh Group’s BOB site (BuyOurBottles.com).

"When purchasing Ardagh Group’s 64oz Growler, consumers are supporting American made products while helping thousands of middle-class U.S. manufacturing jobs thrive in a global economy," said Clint Gawart, Director of Beer Sales for Ardagh Group’s North American Glass division. "We are proud to operate an environmentally friendly business while manufacturing sustainable products right here in the U.S."

Many craft brewers choose to package their products in glass. By using glass bottles, beer is preserved in a non-porous and impermeable container, maintaining the beer’s integrity.

The BOB site now offers six different amber bottles, including two variations of the 12oz bottle, a 22oz bottle, two variations of the 750ml bottle and a 64oz Growler. Craft brewers can buy direct on the BOB site with a major credit card or through a PayPal™ account and will receive shipment within a few days from one of four warehouse sites strategically located in New York, Georgia, Missouri and California.
