Anheuser-Busch Drives Economic Recovery and Job Creation with $20 Million Investment in Williamsburg Brewery

The announcement is part of Anheuser-Busch’s broader $1 billion planned investment to lead the economic recovery and further the brewer’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and local communities across the U.S.

WILLIAMSBURG, VA – September 29, 2022 – Anheuser-Busch, the country’s leading brewer and American manufacturer, today announced a $20 million investment at its Williamsburg Brewery as the company celebrates the facility’s 50^th anniversary. This investment is part of the brewer’s announcement made at the beginning of 2021 to invest $1 billion over two years in the company’s facilities to accelerate the nation’s recovery and drive economic prosperity in communities where it operates.    zzubreebym

“Our planned $1 billion investment is about supporting our local communities by creating and sustaining jobs as our nation continues to navigate the economic recovery,” said Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch. “We’re proud to be celebrating five decades of brewing history in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and our Williamsburg Brewery plays an important role in producing high quality products for our consumers to enjoy for years to come.”

Anheuser-Busch is proud to have created over 30 new jobs year-to-date in James City County. The recent hires, including brewery leadership and various team member roles, present an opportunity for the Williamsburg brewery to continue to modernize, innovate and pursue sustainability-related production. These new positions will bring the total number of employees at the brewery to 600.

The $20 million investment will enable Williamsburg to continue to bring new innovations to market while also enhancing its brewing capabilities to meet consumer demand. Specific updates include expanded brewing capabilities, enhanced brewery process technologies and facility renovations.

The investment in the Williamsburg brewery is part of a larger investment spanning 26 states that is expanding Anheuser-Busch’s U.S. operations, stimulating economies in communities across the country, and enabling sustainable innovations.
