Maui Brewing Prepares Two New Fruit-Infused Beers
Maui Brewing Company is getting ready to expand its lineup with two tropical-inspired beers that bring fruit character to two very different brewing styles. Coming from the brewery’s Kihei, Maui, Hawaii operation are Maui Brewing Mango Big Swell and Dragon Fruit Maui Light, giving beer fans a choice between a fuller 6.8% ABV IPA and an easy-drinking 4% ABV light lager.
The new Mango Big Swell IPA builds on one of Maui Brewing’s established beer names, pairing the brewery’s flagship IPA with mango flavor. At 6.8% ABV and packaged in 12-ounce cans, the beer looks positioned to deliver a distinctly tropical spin on the Big Swell name. Big Swell IPA has been part of Maui Brewing’s core beer portfolio for years, making this mango-infused version an especially interesting development for fans of the brewery.
In addition, the Maui Brewing Mango Big Swell is set to captivate taste buds with its unique flavor profile.
The second release takes Maui Brewing’s newer light-lager direction and adds dragon fruit flavor. Dragon Fruit Maui Light comes in at a sessionable 4% ABV with just 98 calories and 6 grams of carbohydrates per 12-ounce serving. The colorful new package describes it as a Local Light Lager with Dragon Fruit Flavor, creating a tropical fruit variation on Maui Light that should appeal to drinkers looking for a lighter, fruit-forward beer.

Maui Brewing’s Tropical Beer Lineup Gets Two New Twists
Discover the Maui Brewing Mango Big Swell Experience
The two upcoming beers demonstrate how Maui Brewing continues to explore different sides of Hawaii-inspired brewing. Mango Big Swell takes a recognizable IPA and adds mango, while Dragon Fruit Maui Light moves in the opposite direction with a lower-alcohol, lower-calorie lager designed around refreshment and drinkability.
The Mango Big Swell package specifically calls the beer an India Pale Ale infused with juicy mango flavor, while the Dragon Fruit Maui Light label identifies the beer as a local light lager with dragon fruit flavor. That distinction is important because these aren’t simply two fruit beers using the same base recipe. Instead, Maui Brewing is applying tropical fruit to two distinctly different beer experiences.
The new Dragon Fruit Maui Light is particularly notable because Maui Brewing launched its original Maui Light Lager earlier in 2026 as a true-to-style light lager at 4% ABV. That beer debuted at 110 calories and 6 grams of carbohydrates per 12-ounce serving, making the new dragon fruit version even more intriguing with its 98-calorie package profile.
Maui Brewing has also demonstrated a long history of using tropical flavors and ingredients in its beverages. The brewery has previously highlighted its pioneering work with coconut, pineapple and POG beers, while Big Swell IPA remains one of the brewery’s recognizable flagship offerings.
Both new beers are shown in 12-ounce cans, and the packaging gives each release a strong visual identity. Mango Big Swell uses bold orange and blue graphics dominated by a large mango-colored Maui wave design, while Dragon Fruit Maui Light uses a vivid pink package filled with tropical fruit and floral imagery.
At this point, release timing and distribution details for these specific new beers remain to be announced. For Maui Brewing fans, however, the appearance of finished packaging is a strong indication that Mango Big Swell IPA and Dragon Fruit Maui Light are moving toward release.

About Maui Brewing Company:
Maui Brewing Company is one of Hawaii’s best-known independent craft breweries, with its roots firmly established on the island of Maui. Founded in 2005, the brewery began as a seven-barrel brewpub in Kahana producing just 320 barrels of beer. From those modest beginnings, Maui Brewing has developed into Hawaii’s largest independent craft brewery, building a portfolio that combines traditional beer styles with innovative, island-inspired creations.
The brewery’s history is closely connected to its flagship beers. Big Swell IPA, Bikini Blonde Lager and Coconut Hiwa Porter were among the early beers that helped establish Maui Brewing’s identity, with those beers packaged in aluminum cans beginning in 2007. Big Swell IPA remains an important part of the brewery’s lineup and has helped establish Maui Brewing as a producer capable of delivering both hop-forward craft beer and approachable island lagers.
Maui Brewing moved its production operation to a newly constructed, grid-independent facility in Kihei, where the brewery continues to operate its production brewery, restaurant and tasting room. The Kihei location has become an important destination for visitors seeking Maui craft beer, food and a brewery experience connected directly to the company’s island roots.
Innovation is a major part of the Maui Brewing story. The company has highlighted its role in producing some of Hawaii’s pioneering fruit and specialty beers, including coconut, pineapple and POG-inspired beverages. That tradition makes releases such as Mango Big Swell IPA and Dragon Fruit Maui Light a natural extension of the brewery’s approach to tropical craft beer.
Maui Brewing has also expanded beyond traditional craft beer. Its broader beverage portfolio includes Maui Hard Seltzer, Maui Island Spirits, Kupu Spirits and non-alcoholic beverages, giving the company a presence across multiple beverage categories. In 2026, Maui Brewing continued expanding the Maui Light brand with both its traditional light lager and Maui Light NA.
Sustainability is another significant part of Maui Brewing’s identity. Its Kihei facility incorporates solar power and battery storage, while the company has invested in systems designed to reduce energy consumption and recover carbon dioxide. Maui Brewing has also emphasized recycling, spent-grain donations to local farmers and environmental cleanup efforts.
The brewery’s Maui Light Lager represents another important evolution in the portfolio. Introduced in 2026 as a 4% ABV light lager, Maui Light was developed around crisp, clean and highly drinkable characteristics for the island lifestyle. Its subsequent expansion into Maui Light NA and now the Dragon Fruit Maui Light concept demonstrates how the brand is being used as a platform for new flavor and beverage ideas.
Meanwhile, Big Swell IPA provides the foundation for the new Mango Big Swell. Earlier Maui Brewing releases have shown the brewery’s willingness to experiment with the flagship, and the new mango version adds another tropical dimension to one of the brewery’s established IPA brands. MyBeerBuzz previously reported Big Swell at 6.8% ABV as part of Maui Brewing’s lineup.
With its combination of Hawaiian heritage, independent brewing, tropical ingredients, sustainability and constant product innovation, Maui Brewing Company continues to develop beers designed to reflect its island home. Mango Big Swell IPA and Dragon Fruit Maui Light fit squarely into that tradition, offering two very different ways to experience tropical fruit through Maui Brewing’s evolving craft beer lineup.
