Brothers Wright High Rye Coal Mine Aged Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is set to make waves among bourbon collectors and high‑rye whiskey fans. This expression comes in at a bold 51.75% ABV and is bottled in 750ml format, offering a robust profile that highlights the brand’s commitment to distinctive Kentucky craftsmanship.

Aged for 4 years, 6 months, and 3 days, this bourbon reflects a careful maturation process that balances youthful spice with emerging depth, making it an intriguing addition to the growing lineup of high‑rye Kentucky straight bourbons.

What sets this release apart is its coal mine aging, a unique environmental twist that contributes to the whiskey’s character and story. The stable underground temperatures and natural humidity of coal mine aging create a maturation environment unlike traditional rickhouses, allowing the bourbon to develop nuanced layers of flavor. With its elevated proof, high‑rye mash bill, and unconventional aging method, Brothers Wright High Rye Coal Mine Aged Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is positioned to attract enthusiasts seeking something bold, rare, and rooted in Kentucky tradition. Expect strong interest as more details and release timing emerge.

About Brothers Wright Distillery:

Brothers Wright Distilling Co. is a craft, family-owned distillery based in Eastern Kentucky, best known for its unique method of aging bourbon in century-old underground coal mines. Founded in 2021 by brothers Shannon and Kendall Wright, the company recently expanded its operations by acquiring the Dueling Barrels Brewery & Distillery in downtown Pikeville.

Distillery Operations
The company operates across two primary sites in Pike County:

Pikeville (Main Hub): A 30,000-square-foot facility at 745 Hambley Blvd that serves as the central production center for spirits and beer. It features a restaurant, tasting room, and a gift shop.

Aflex (Aging Site): A 1,200-acre property where bourbon is aged in a rehabilitated coal mine that originally operated from 1913 to 1946. This site is being developed into a $38 million destination that will eventually include a museum, lodging, and an “underground visitor experience”.

Core Products
Their spirits are categorized by their signature coal mine aging process, which uses “heat cycling” to manage environmental conditions underground.
Brothers Wright Reserve: A premium four-grain blend of wheated and rye bourbons (typically 5–6 years old).

Single Barrel Offerings: Includes Wheated Bourbon, High Rye Bourbon, and Barrel Proof Bourbon.
Moonshine: Production for their moonshine line is being relocated to the Aflex site.

Visiting Information
The Pikeville location is currently the primary public-facing site:

Hours: Wednesday–Thursday (11 AM – 11 PM) and Friday–Saturday (11 AM – 12 AM). Closed Sunday–Tuesday.
Amenities: Casual atmosphere with live music, a full bar, and table service at their restaurant (formerly Pearse’s Place).
Contact: Official details can be found on their official website or by calling (606) 766-3835.
