Housed in a large, repurposed industrial building that was formerly a rail-parts factory, the brewery offers spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas. In addition to a wide range of house-brewed beers, Love City also has a permanent food truck partner, Viva Pizzas, operating inside the taproom.

Industrial vibe: The taproom features a cool, industrial-chic feel, with exposed brick, high ceilings, and visible brewing equipment.
Outdoor spaces: A beer garden is available for warmer months, offering additional seating options.
Transit access: The brewery is a few blocks from SEPTA’s Broad Street Line stop at Broad and Spring Garden.

Beer and food
Draft selection: The beer selection, which is often around 12 deep, includes a mix of styles from sessionable lagers to IPAs, stouts, and sours. Staple beers include Love City Lager and Eraserhood NE IPA.
Food truck: The onsite food truck, Viva Pizzas, serves a menu of pizzas, burgers, fries, wings, and other pub fare. Vegan options are available.
Signature pizza: Reviewers frequently recommend the Pepperoni & Honey pizza.

Community focus: Love City Brewing emphasizes an inclusive and approachable beer culture. They have signed the “Crafted for All” commitment, which promotes inclusivity and equity in the brewery industry.
Sustainability efforts: The brewery takes steps to be a responsible small business, including working with local farmers to give spent grains a second home.

LOVE FOR EACH OTHER, FOR CRAFT BEER, FOR PHILADELPHIA

AT LOVE CITY BREWING COMPANY,
We believe that beer isn’t supposed to be complicated. Sure, brewing a good one is part art, part science, but that doesn’t mean the culture surrounding it needs to be so… much. Beer should be approachable and so should the places we drink it. After all, beer is “the workers’ drink” and there’s something nice about the simplicity of the pastime: a special kind of unity born of people from different walks of life coming together to unwind in the same way. We’re about good people, good beer, and a good way to cap off the day. It doesn’t need to be more complicated than that.

OUR MISSION
We create unfailingly delicious beer that is the centerpiece of Philadelphia’s table. We do whatever it takes to ensure the quality of each beer we serve. At Love City, we take care of each other. We prioritize relationships with our customers, colleagues, and community. We grow at a pace that allows us to maintain these values and priorities. We work hard to demonstrate what a craft brewery should be – a responsible small business that makes outstanding beer while respecting the people that make it possible.

KEVIN & MELISSA
You could say that beer brought us together. We chatted each other up over the keg at a friend’s New Year’s Eve party. As our love for each other grew, so did our love of good beer. We were introduced to the wonders of craft beer by Kevin’s career with Iron Hill Brewery. We even brewed a beer together for our wedding… on New Year’s Eve 2011!

PHILADELPHIA
We’ve found a home here in Philadelphia, a city that’s reclaiming its space on the national stage, but isn’t afraid to be itself.

As we got to know Philly, we fell in love with its rich brewing history. We were amazed by the number of breweries that existed here (nearly 700 before Prohibition was enacted). Each neighborhood had a brewery that served the local residents, and beer was a part of every table.

We want to make that a reality for our neighbors today.
We think you should know your brewer and be able to watch your beer being made.

CODE OF CONDUCT
As part of our participation in the Brave Noise Pale Ale brew we’ve developed a code of conduct that applies to all staff, customers, vendors, and other service providers with whom we interact. We’ve always had a strong anti-harassment policy for our staff, but it’s important that we make this information public, so we can all hold each other accountable.

Love City does not tolerate harassing, threatening, or discriminatory language or behaviors. We take all reports of harassment and discrimination very seriously. We encourage everyone to bring these things to our attention. Customers can tell a bartender or manager; staff can talk to their manager or someone else with whom they feel comfortable. If you witness something and would prefer to report it later, please email [email protected] or call 215-398-1900.

Harassment and discrimination can include the following, but this list is not exhaustive. We will take action that we deem appropriate against anyone who harasses or discriminates against others. Staff will be subject to disciplinary action. Customers may be removed from Love City for the day or for an extended period. Vendors may be asked to make changes or lose our business.

Words or actions meant to intimidate or incite violence against any person
Offensive comments related to race, color, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, physical appearance, religion, age, disability, or mental illness.
Sustained unwelcome attention
Unwanted physical contact
Stalking or following
Harassing photography or video recording

Love City Brewing strives to be a welcoming, inclusive place for everyone. These are the most important values we hold as a company, and the positive behaviors that we expect from everyone who interacts with us:
Value: Respectful & open communication

Behaviors:
Talk to people, not about people. Many issues can be solved by kindly addressing the person directly.
Always ask yourself: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Use inclusive language. Use correct names and pronouns.

Value: Social Responsibility
Behaviors
Everyone takes care of our space and the people in it. Hold doors, offer a hand, ask others what they need.
Look for ways to care for our neighborhood and community.

Value: Safety
Behaviors
Refrain from microaggressions (i.e. misgendering someone, highlighting differences that people can’t control). Address it when someone makes a mistake. Be up front when you make a mistake; apologize & move on.
Try to de-escalate tense situations: use a calm tone of voice, relaxed body language, enlist help from others.
Avoid involving police unless physical safety is threatened

Value: Equity, Inclusion, & Justice
Behaviors
Create an inclusive environment by using all behaviors listed above
Acknowledge that treating people equitably sometimes means different treatment
Recognize inequities and work to equalize them as much as possible
Crafted For All logo
Crafted For All
Love City Brewing is committed to creating a more inclusive, equitable, and just brewery. We have joined a fantastic group of breweries & allied trades in signing the Crafted for All commitment.

This isn’t simply signing on the dotted line. We created an actionable plan and got feedback from our staff. We’re doing the work every day. We’re always open to ideas and feedback – please email [email protected]
