Proof And Wood Ventures Tumblin’ Dice Straight Rye Whiskey Finished In Jamaican Rum Barrels 55%-ABV 750ml Bottles.

About Proof And Wood Ventures:

At Proof & Wood Ventures, Inc., we invest in and develop spirits brands, and age our own spirits. Our core business is sourcing and bottling fine American whiskies, but we also import other high-quality spirits from around the world that were not available in the US previously. Founder Dave Schmier is delighted to be able to create both cocktail-friendly bottlings for value-focused bartenders and high-end collectors’ editions for connoisseurs.
Our name comes from the two things we control as a blender and finisher of fine spirits, and the two things that are incredibly important to any spirit’s flavor: the proof it’s bottled at, and the wood of the barrel we age it in.

Proof and Wood Ventures is a Connecticut-based spirits company founded in 2015 by industry veteran Dave Schmier. As an independent bottler and blender, the company focuses on sourcing, aging, and bottling a range of spirits, primarily American whiskies, and other unique global selections.

The name “Proof and Wood” refers to the two factors Schmier considers most critical to the spirits’ flavor that he can control: the bottling proof and the wood of the barrel. The company is known for offering both affordable “cocktail-friendly” options and high-end, limited-edition expressions for connoisseurs

Business model
Unlike a traditional distillery,Proof and Wood operates by sourcing spirits from other producers around the world. This process allows the company to:
Source diverse spirits: The company’s portfolio extends beyond its core American whiskies to include international spirits like Polish rye whiskey, Jamaican rum, and Genever from the Netherlands.
Access rare and unique batches: In its “Curated Collection,”Proof and Wood
offers rare, one-off bottlings and spirits that are not typically available in the U.S. market.
Ensure quality and consistency: For whiskies, much of the sourcing and aging is done in Kentucky, though the spirits originate from various distilleries.
Noteworthy brands and products
The Proof and Wood portfolio is divided into regular brands and its limited-release Curated Collection. Some of its brands include:
Whiskies:Deadwood: A range of bourbon and rye whiskies.
Tumblin’ Dice: A small-batch straight bourbon and single-barrel bourbon line.
The Representative: A small-batch, barrel-proof bourbon.
The Presidential Dram: An 8-year-old, barrel-proof bourbon with a high-corn mashbill.
The Globe
:
A Polish rye whiskey aged in French oak, ex-bourbon, and Jamaican rum casks.
Blame Canada!

A Canadian blended rye.
Rums:The Funk

A range of rums.
Pot Still Rum

Awards
Proof and Wood has been recognized for the quality of its spirits with several industry accolades:

Icons of Whiskey America 2022: Winner of the Independent Bottler Award.
