Rochester Mills Announces Big Brew Day & Michigan HomeBrewers Competition

(Rochester, MI) – Rochester Mills Beer Co. and Production Brewery announced details for the 2013 Mills Big Brew Day and Michigan Homebrew Competition. Homebrewers across the State are invited to gather at the Rochester Mills Production Brewery in Auburn Hills, Michigan on Saturday, April 27th to be part of one of the largest, single day, homebrewing events in the Country and to compete for a chance to collaborate with the Mills’ head brewers on a recipe that will be brewed on the Rochester Mills Production system for distribution across Michigan, the Great Beer State.

“Rochester Mills has always been a big supporter of the homebrewing community,” said Rochester Mills founder, Mike Plesz. “We share a love for the craft and, let’s face it, we basically started off as homebrewers ourselves. This past year we took our brewing to the next level by distributing our beers across the State, so it was only fitting that we kicked this event up a notch as well.”

Space is limited to the first 100 entries that pre-register through the Company’s website. Only beer brewed onsite at the 2013 Mills Big Brew Day will be eligible for the Michigan Homebrew Competition and Big Brew Review, which will be held on Saturday, June 1st. At that time, entrants are invited to return and sample competing beers then vote for their favorite. Additionally, there will be public tours of the production brewery, a homebrew equipment swap meet and breweriana show at the Big Brew Review.
