From Pelican:

Maramis Pale Ale is brewed with two new hop varieties and a blend of pale, wheat, and a touch of caramel malt. The nicely rounded malt profile showcases both hop varieties beautifully. A product of French and English hop varietals, the Aramis hop has an herbal, sweet citrus and slightly spicy aroma. The Mandarina Bavaria hop is a descendant of the well known Cascade variety and lends intense tangerine and citrus notes. These two hops meld well with the soft malt profile and make this a beer that anyone could get on board with.

Ingredients:
Malts: Pale, Caramel, Melanoidin, White Wheat, Wheat Flakes

Hops: Aramis and Mandarina Bavaria

Specifications:
OG: 11.5 degrees Plato

ABV: 5.16%

IBU: 35

CoHOPeration Lager grew out of a collaboration brew between Pelican Brewing Company and Red Rock Brewing Company of Salt Lake City, Utah. Both previous “Large Brewpub of the Year” winners at the GABF, the idea and design for this beer was hatched between Darron Welch and Kevin Templin, brewmasters of Pelican and Red Rock.

CoHOPeration is a very hop-forward beer, with the hop bitterness and profile of an IPA, but the hop aroma and flavor more characteristic of a pilsner. The clean flavor profile comes from the lager fermentation and lengthy period of cold-conditioning. Floral-spicy flavors from Sterling and Saaz hops marry with rye spiciness to add depth and complexity to the overall flavor.  This unique hybridization of existing beer styles has created something completely unique.

“This was a great opportunity to create something new and different, yet with clear stylistic and historical roots; to learn by working with each other; and to just have a lot of fun making beer, which is an industry core value!”  – Darron Welch, Brewmaster
