When Queen of Tarts won the Gold Medal in the American-style Sour category at the 2016 Great American Beer Festival, we knew we had an excellent "problem" on our hands: we needed more! It may take some time to properly age this beer, but the wait is so worth it. And now? The Queen has returned.

Queen of Tarts is a dark sour ale aged in American Oak barrels with Michigan tart cherries. It has lightly roasted malts, dark fruit flavors, and a tart finish. Look for Queen of Tarts at our Tasting Room & Beer Garden, at all Karl Strauss brewpubs, and at beer bars throughout the state of California. But be warned, as with all our small-batch releases, this lovely lady won’t be around for long!
