Two Roads Announces 8th Annual Igor’s Dream Release

It’s our favorite time of the year, the release of our 8th Igor’s Dream, a Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels!
In honor of our hometown hero and Stratford, CT aviation pioneer, Igor Sikorsky, we’ve created this most unorthodox Russian Imperial Stout. Made with rye and aged in oak whiskey barrels, it has depth of character like no other.
Wine Enthusiast named our 2019 Igor’s Dream one of the best American stouts of the 2019, and described it as having “spicy aromas of roasted grain, bittersweet cocoa, vanilla bean and burnt caramel sauce, all hit by solid doses of rye and wood spice. Medium in weight, the texture is slightly slick and viscous in feel, while moderate carbonation and a warming sensation keep it from feeling too heavy or cloying. Enduring warmth, as well as flavors of roasted malt, dark rye bread and baking spice, abound on the long close.”
Every year we release a new Igor’s Dream barrel-aged in rye whiskey and two additional varietals. This year, the 2020 varietals are #1 barrel-aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels and #2 barrel-aged with bourbon barrel aged coffee beans!

We decided to honor Igor and our Igor’s Dream throughout the month of January with three events across the Road Less Traveled campus at both Two Roads Brewing Co and Area Two Experimental Brewing!

Igor’s Dream Preview & Dessert Pairing

The first event, held on Wednesday, Jan. 15th at 6:30 p.m., is our 5th Annual Igor’s Dream Dessert Pairing! This unique collaboration of delectable desserts includes a sneak preview of the 2020 Igor’s Dream beer lineup AND four of our limited and brewery only beers paired with four delicious desserts made by Chef Ryan Keelen. Igor’s Dream Vertical Tasting

The second event celebrating Igor’s Dream will be held at our brand-new barrel-aging and experimental brewery: Area Two! Located right next to Two Roads, join us at Area Two Experimental Brewing on January 22nd for this much anticipated event! It’s sure to be an intimate evening with our Master Brewer and Igor’s Dream mastermind Phil Markowski!
The sixth installment of Between the Barrels will take you through the process and nuances of barrel-aging as presented in one of his most notable barrel-aged series, Igor’s Dream. Igor’s Dream is a Rye Whiskey barrel-aged Russian Imperial stout released in January of each year in tandem with two other variants — versions other than Rye Whiskey. Listen and taste as Phil walks you through an incredible 7 year vertical tasting of past Igor’s kept in perfect cellar condition – and enjoy a sneak peek 8th tasting of this years version before public release! The piece de resistance of our entire month-long celebration, of course, concludes on Jan. 25 with our 8th Annual Igor’s Dream bottle release!
Bottle sales will begin at 9:00 a.m. and Tasting Room doors will open at 10:00 a.m., here are all the details:
