Tröegs Celebrates World Down Syndrome Day with Brewery Event and Canned Cocktail Release
Hershey, Pennsylvania – Tröegs Independent Brewing invites everyone to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day at the 3.21 For Life “Beach Bash.” The event is set to take place at the Hershey, PA-based brewery on Saturday, March 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
For the third consecutive year, the independent, family-owned brewery is partnering with 3.21 For Life, a nonprofit community-based organization championing inclusion, belonging, and friendship for individuals with Down syndrome.
“3.21 For Life celebrates people with Down syndrome and intellectual and developmental disabilities,” says Jo Ann Pagano, co-founder of 3.21 For Life. “Our theme this year – Riding the Wave of Inclusion – is simple; all you have to do is jump on board. Inclusion is happening everywhere in the world, and we want you to experience it in motion for yourselves right here in our community.”
Throughout the day, guests are encouraged to participate in various inclusive activities alongside individuals with Down syndrome and learn more about their unique attributes.
Highlights of the event include live music, raffle drawings, appearances by popular regional sports mascots, local food trucks and other vendors, and interaction with entrepreneurs with Down syndrome.
Family-friendly activities include yard games, a live painting demonstration, hair tinsel and braiding, an obstacle course, face painting, and a meet-and-greet with fluffy cows from nearby Spruce Hill Acres.
To commemorate the event, Tröegs will release “Ride the Wave,” a 5.5% ABV vodka-based canned cocktail made with peach and passionfruit. The ready-to-drink beverage will be served over ice in the Tasting Room and be available to purchase in 12-oz. cans to-go as 4-packs through Tröegs’ General Store.
Since 2022, 3.21 For Life has raised and distributed nearly $250,000 to twenty-eight different organizations in the Central PA area, including day programs for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, high school social clubs, adaptive sports teams, and more.
“This day is all about celebrating the lives of these amazing individuals,” adds Tröegs co-founding brother Chris Trogner. “We hope to see you this Saturday at the brewery to ride the wave of inclusion with us!”
Tröegs Independent Brewing is located at 200 E. Hersheypark Drive, Hershey, PA. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

We’re a bunch of family, friends and kindred spirits who share a love of great beer. Together, we make Tröegs.
Founded in Pennsylvania in 1997 by brothers John and Chris Trogner, Tröegs is driven by a sense of adventure and curiosity.
You might know our Perpetual IPA, the best-selling IPA in Pennsylvania. Or the dark, malty and crisp Tröegenator. Maybe you’ve tried one of the hundreds of experimental Scratch Series beers we’ve brewed. Or taken the “Best Brewery Tour in America” here at our Hershey home.
Whether you’re already a member of our extended family or you’re just getting to know Tröegs, there’s always something new to discover. Crack a Perpetual and stay awhile.
Family-owned. Independently crafted.
In the past 25 years, Tröegs has grown from two brothers to 250 people, but we’re still very much a family business. Because we stay true to our core values of independence and family ownership, we’ve kept the small-brewery DNA we all hold dear.
Perpetual exploration
Our small-batch Scratch Series and 3-barrel Scratch Lab are where we do the work needed to understand the “why” at the intersection of ingredients, technique and flavor.
Local ingredients
We live and brew in fertile central PA, and we’re proud to support our local farmers. Every year, we buy more than 225,000 pounds of local grain, honey and fruit to use in our beer.
Community
From bike rides that fund local trails to new beers that help preserve critical forests, our partnerships improve the places where we live, work and play.
