Sycamore Releases a New Core Cider, Announces Seasonal Tastes

Macro Dose and Sycamore Serveza Are Perfect for Spring Sipping

CHARLOTTE, NC  (March. 26, 2025) – As patio sitting weather takes hold this spring, Sycamore unveils a new core cider, seasonal beers and brings back a seasonal cider flavor for all the good spring vibes. The four new releases are available at the brewery’s taproom in Charlotte’s South End and at retailers and on tap at various locations.

Sycamore releases a new core cider offering, Transfusion Cider (5.5% ALC). It is made from grape juice, ginger and lime. Transfusion Cider, inspired by the cocktail of the same name, was crafted to compete in the ready-to-drink cocktail space using hard cider as the base alcohol component rather than distilled spirits. This cider will be available year-round at the taproom and at retailers in 16-ounce 4-packs.

Returning this spring, Tropical Cider (5.5% ALC) is a combo of tropical flavors – tart passionfruit, punchy pineapple and sweet, nutty coconut. Coconut bridges the sweet and tart aspects of the liquid, tying things together with woody and earthy nuances and giving a middle ground to break up the fruit flavors. It gives us all the summer feels on a cool spring day.

Spring Beer Releases

In creating the Macro Dose IPA (6.9% ALC), the brewer wanted to keep the brewing process simple and make great hops shine. Sycamore hand selected and procured the freshest and finest New Zealand grown hops, courtesy of our partners at Hop Revolution. The recipe features heavy use of the New Zealand grown Riwaka – an incredibly vibrant, newer hop bursting with passion fruit and grapefruit – and Pacific Sunrise hop – an older NZ variety making a comeback for its contributions of mango, clementines and melon.

“We evaluated multiple batches and lots of each of these hops, carefully hand selecting the winners based on overall intensity, complexity and how well they would partner with the third feature hop in this beer – Mosaic. This is one of our all-time favorites, and it contributes to a complex array of blueberries, mango, tangerine, with a firm dankness,” said head brewer Brad Bergman.

Sycamore Serveza (4.7% ALC) is a clean, light Mexican Lager with unique and zippy blood orange and lime citrus flavors. Malts were procured from partners Riverbend in Asheville. The light beer is made for drinking on warm, sunny days or at least transporting you to your imaginary summer locale of choice.

“Our aim with this beverage is balance – we want the drinker to experience not only the fruit but also the great beer flavors as well,” explained Bergman.

Sycamore Serveza is sold at retailers in 12-packs.
