Sly Fox & Exton Beverage Collaborate On Kinship Anniversary Ale

Today I have a new collaboration can coming from Sly Fox Brewing in Pottstown, PA.

This is Kinship and it will be brewed to celebrate Exton Beverage’s 50th Anniversary and their 30-year partnership with Sly Fox. The beer will be an extra pale ale that will hit 5.7%-AbV and it will be packaged in these 16oz cans. Stay tuned for 2025 release info.

About Sly Fox Brewing:

The company was founded in December 1995 by the Giannopoulos family and as the years have passed, the brewery and family have grown.

After cutting his teeth in sales for 15 years, Pete Giannopoulos opened the Sly Fox Brewhouse & Eatery in his hometown of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, in the spring of 1995. The “microbrewery” was a new concept at the time and it introduced thousands of folks to the wonders of craft beer; and grew quite a loyal following along the way.
Former Brewmaster Brian O’Reilly arrived in the Spring of 2002 and quickly developed a plan to begin offering Sly Fox’s celebrated beers at some of the best beer bars, pubs and restaurants in the Greater Philly Area.

Demand for Sly Fox’s beers quicky outgrew the capabilities of the 15-barrel brewhouse in Phoenixville. In November of 2004, Sly Fox opened a 20-barrel production brewery and restaurant in nearby Royersford, PA. During this time, Pete’s brother, John, joined the company to manage the production facility. Fast-forward seven years—ever-increasing demand once again caused Sly Fox to outgrow its brewing operation. The Royersford location was sold to former employees in 2011, as bigger expansion plans were already underway. The Pottstown Brewery & Tastin’ Room opened in January 2012, equipped with a beautiful, new German 50-hectoliter brewhouse and room for growth. In 2018, after the departure of Brian O’Reilly, Sly Fox promoted its longtime Director of Brewery Operations, Tim Ohst, to lead the production staff.  
Following the opening of three pubs in downtown Pittsburgh, Wyomissing, and Malvern in 2019 and 2020, Sly Fox launched its first brewing operation in western PA with the opening of the Pittsburgh Pub & Brewery at The Highline in 2022.
Sly Fox is considered one of the pioneers of craft brewers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Its beers are currently available from retailers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, Southern Florida and Puerto Rico.

The company is proud and thankful for over a quarter-century on ongoing success. Longevity in this ever-evolving world demands hard work, great people, great beer and a love for innovation. Sly Fox still takes some pride in that it was an early adopter of the craft-beer-in-a-can revolution and became the first craft brewery in the Mid-Atlantic region to put in a canning line in 2006. Sly Fox’s Pikeland Pils became the first canned, craft beer to win a medal at the Great American Beer Festival—the United States’ most prestigious beer competition—way back in 2007.
Sly Fox Brewing Company is still a family-affair, as Pete’s son, Peter, took over duties as President of the brewery in 2021.
