SPOETZL Brewery is gearing up for a fun, flavor‑packed seasonal release with Shiner Wicked Caramel Apple, a new caramel‑apple–inspired beer arriving just in time for Fall 2026. Brewed in Shiner, Texas, this release leans into the brewery’s long tradition of playful, dessert‑influenced seasonals while keeping things light, crisp, and easy‑drinking. Wicked Caramel Apple is designed as a smooth, approachable 4.6% ABV ale that blends bright apple character with warm caramel sweetness, giving it the nostalgic profile of a classic fall treat without tipping into heaviness. It’s positioned squarely in the growing category of fruit‑forward fall beers, appealing to fans of cider‑adjacent flavors, caramel‑accented ales, and seasonal craft releases that highlight autumn ingredients.

The beer will arrive in 12‑oz bottles, a format that fits Shiner’s traditional lineup and makes the release ideal for fall gatherings, tailgates, and seasonal variety packs. With its combination of caramel aroma, apple‑driven flavor, and sessionable strength, Wicked Caramel Apple is set up to be a standout in the 2026 fall craft beer market, especially as consumers continue gravitating toward lower‑ABV seasonal beers, flavored ales, and dessert‑inspired craft releases. The early look at the packaging suggests Shiner is leaning into bold, playful branding to match the beer’s sweet‑tart profile, and anticipation is already building for full release details as the brewery finalizes its fall lineup.

Label Text Shiner Wicked Caramel Apple:

“WICKED TO THE CORE
This hauntingly smooth brew balances crisp fruit character with rich sweetness and notes of autumn spice, conjuring the nostalgic taste of tart orchard apples dipped in buttery caramel. — PROSIT!“

The Spoetzl Brewery was founded in Shiner, Texas (population 2,069), in 1909, by Czech and  German immigrants brewing beer with old-world traditions and recipes for Central Texas. Since then, the brewery has grown to be one of the largest independent craft brewers in the country with beers available in all 50 states and Mexico. To this day, every drop of the award-winning beer is brewed right in Shiner, TX, where it all started 115 years ago.

Shiner beer is brewed in Shiner, Texas by Spoetzl Brewery. The brewery has been in operation since 1909. Shiner beers include Shiner Bock, Shiner Light Blonde, Shiner ¡Órale!, and more.

Shiner/Spoetzl are owned by The Gambrinus Company. Founded in 1986, The Gambrinus Company is a family-owned company with headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. Gambrinus sells and markets craft beers from two independent craft breweries—the historic Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas and the Trumer Brewery in Berkeley, California.

Shiner is a beer brand made by the Spoetzl Brewery, the oldest independent brewery in Texas. Established in 1909 by German and Czech immigrants, the brewery is located in the small town of Shiner, Texas. While the brewery has expanded its operations over the years, all Shiner beer is still brewed in its founding town.

History
1909:
The brewery is founded by a group of immigrants who craved Old-World-style beer. They were assisted by Bavarian brewmaster Kosmos Spoetzl, for whom the brewery is named.

Prohibition: The Spoetzl Brewery was one of the few to survive Prohibition by producing “near beer” and ice.
1970s: Shiner’s popularity spread beyond its small town, gaining a following among music and beer lovers in Austin.
1993: The beer crossed state lines for the first time, expanding into 14 states.
1989-present: The brewery has been owned by The Gambrinus Company, a family-owned business from San Antonio.

Flagship beers
Shiner Bock:
This American-style amber lager is the brewery’s most famous product. It was first brewed in 1913, and its popularity led to it becoming a year-round offering in 1973.
Shiner Premium: This traditional golden lager is inspired by the brewery’s original 1909 recipe.

Other offerings
In addition to its flagship beers, the Spoetzl Brewery
produces a wide range of seasonal and year-round brews, including:
Shiner Light Blonde
Shiner Black Lager
Shiner Prickly Pear
Shiner Ruby Redbird
Shiner ¡Órale! (a Mexican-style cerveza)
Shiner Sea Salt & Lime
Shiner Rodeo (a series of non-alcoholic beers)
