Today I have a returning fan favorite coming from New Belgium Brewing, the legendary craft brewery based in Fort Collins, Colorado, with brewing operations also located in Asheville, North Carolina. Making its highly anticipated return is Palisade Peach Sour Ale, a refreshing fruit-forward sour beer that continues to showcase the incredible flavor of Colorado-grown peaches while delivering the balanced tartness that sour ale fans have come to love.

According to the newly released label, New Belgium Palisade Peach Sour Ale will remain a golden sour ale brewed with rescued yellow Glohaven peaches and packaged in sleek new 12 ounce cans. The beer will come in at a very approachable 6% ABV, making it an ideal choice for warm weather drinking, backyard gatherings, cookouts, brewery visits, and summer adventures.

The beautifully designed can artwork immediately highlights the peach-centric experience awaiting drinkers. The label features vibrant imagery of ripe peaches and pays tribute to the famous peach-growing region of Palisade, Colorado. For many craft beer enthusiasts, Palisade peaches represent some of the finest peaches grown in the United States, prized for their juicy sweetness, bright aroma, and rich flavor profile.

As described on the label, this beer is an aged golden sour ale refermented on Colorado peaches with vanilla extract and natural flavors added. That combination creates a layered drinking experience that balances fruit sweetness, subtle vanilla character, refreshing acidity, and a crisp finish. The result is a fruit sour that remains approachable for newcomers while still offering enough complexity to satisfy longtime sour beer enthusiasts.

One particularly noteworthy aspect of this release is New Belgium’s use of “rescued” yellow Glohaven peaches. By utilizing rescued fruit, the brewery helps reduce agricultural waste while giving perfectly usable peaches a second life in a flavorful craft beer. Sustainability has remained a major focus for New Belgium throughout its history, and this release continues that commitment while simultaneously enhancing the beer with authentic fruit character.

The brewery describes the beer as a refreshing summer sour that feels like stopping at a fruit stand on Colorado’s Western Slope. That imagery perfectly captures what drinkers can likely expect from the experience. Fresh peach aroma leads the way, followed by juicy stone fruit flavor, gentle tartness, hints of vanilla, and a clean finish that encourages another sip.

The sour ale category continues to be one of the most exciting segments in the craft beer industry, and fruit-forward sour beers remain especially popular among drinkers looking for bright, refreshing alternatives to traditional IPAs and lagers. New Belgium Palisade Peach Sour Ale delivers exactly that style of experience, combining real fruit character with balanced acidity and exceptional drinkability.

Fans of peach beer, fruit beer, sour ale, golden sour ale, Colorado craft beer, and seasonal brewery releases will undoubtedly want to keep this one on their radar. The return of Palisade Peach represents another welcome addition to New Belgium’s lineup and gives beer lovers another opportunity to experience one of the brewery’s most memorable fruit-focused creations.

At the time of writing, additional release details, package configurations, market availability, and distribution information have not yet been announced. Stay tuned for further updates as New Belgium Brewing prepares to bring Palisade Peach Sour Ale back to store shelves and tap handles.

New Belgium Brewing stands among the most recognized and influential names in American craft beer. Founded in 1991 in Fort Collins, Colorado, New Belgium has grown from a small startup brewery into one of the largest and most respected craft breweries in the United States. Known for innovation, quality brewing, sustainability initiatives, and a diverse portfolio of award-winning beers, New Belgium has played a significant role in shaping modern American craft beer culture.

The brewery first gained widespread recognition through its iconic Fat Tire Amber Ale, a beer that helped introduce countless consumers to the craft beer movement. Over the decades, New Belgium expanded its portfolio to include IPAs, lagers, sour ales, seasonal releases, barrel-aged beers, and fruit-forward specialty offerings. Today, New Belgium beers are distributed across the country and remain popular among both casual beer drinkers and dedicated craft beer enthusiasts.

New Belgium Brewing has long been associated with environmental responsibility and sustainable brewing practices. The company has invested heavily in renewable energy, energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction programs, and environmentally conscious business operations. Sustainability remains a defining characteristic of the New Belgium brand and continues to influence the brewery’s decisions regarding ingredients, production methods, and community engagement.

In addition to its flagship Fort Collins facility, New Belgium operates a major brewing location in Asheville, North Carolina, allowing the company to better serve beer lovers across the eastern United States. Both locations have become popular destinations for brewery tours, craft beer tastings, special events, and visitors interested in learning more about the brewing process.

New Belgium is particularly respected for its expertise in sour beer production. The brewery’s sour program has produced numerous acclaimed releases that highlight fruit, wild fermentation techniques, oak aging, and complex flavor development. Beers like La Folie and Palisade Peach showcase New Belgium’s ability to combine traditional brewing knowledge with modern innovation.

Whether producing hop-forward IPAs, refreshing seasonal beers, fruit-infused sour ales, golden ales, barrel-aged specialties, or classic craft beer styles, New Belgium Brewing continues to deliver quality, consistency, and creativity. For beer lovers searching for Colorado craft beer, award-winning sour ales, fruit beers, peach beer releases, sustainable breweries, and innovative brewing traditions, New Belgium Brewing remains one of the most respected names in the craft beer industry. The return of New Belgium Palisade Peach Sour Ale further demonstrates the brewery’s ongoing commitment to creating distinctive, flavorful beers that celebrate exceptional ingredients, regional agriculture, and the enduring spirit of American craft brewing.
