Mybeerbuzz.com Highlights Shipyard Island Time Session IPA

This beer pours a beautiful golden hue, and of course the aroma hits you right away. Island Time is loaded with bright and citrusy aromas and a late glimmer of spice. The first sip brings out some nice citrus notes followed by some slightly resinous flavors that we really liked (40 IBU). I kept finding grapefruit in the flavor and that flavor was even more prominent as the beer warmed. Of course I really like the grapefruit-side of hops so I found this beer to be very drinkable….and at just 4.5%-AbV, you can drink a lot.
Island Time uses Amarillo and Simcoe hops grown in the Pacific Northwest as well as Pale and Carafoam malts and “Ringwood” yeast. The beer hits 4.5%-AbV and I think the 12oz can is the perfect package, although I have seen packaging for 12oz bottles and kegs as well. Island Time was released on May 5th so get out there and get some now. This will be a great beach-beer also, so plan ahead.
Shipyard Island Time has a really fresh flavor and aroma and it’s definitely a beer you need to try for yourself. And as always, when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
