Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Atwater Brewery Big Pick IPA (Review)
I brought you the news just a few weeks ago, and I’m excited to get an early chance to taste today’s beer. I don’t get many opportunities to taste beers from this brewery, so I can’t wait to try this one.
The brewery is Atwater Brewery and the beer is called Big Pick IPA. Atwater calls this beer a “Midwest-style” IPA and it is a new beer coming to Atwater to start celebrating football season…in fact Atwater is challenging beer drinkers to drink 1.8-miles of beer which corresponds to the distance that the Detroit football festivities are from the brewery.
Of course I can’t wait to try Big Pick so off we go…
Atwater Brewery Big Pick IPA
ABV: 6.5%
IBU: 58
Hops: Centennial & Cascade
Style: Midwest IPA
Packaging: 12oz cans
Appearance: Clear golden
Aroma: Tropical fruit, citrus & grapefruit
Mouthfeel: Medium
Taste: Tangerine, tropical fruits & mildly bitter hops
Overall: Big Pick IPA has a really drinkable set of flavors going on. I liked the citrus and hop flavors in the mix and the finish was crisp and satisfying. This beer has a unique balance that leans citrusy and a tiny bit malty and overall I thought it was a really enjoyable and really hoppy IPA.
Atwater Big Pick IPA is available now in 12oz canned six-packs so get out there are try one for yourself. And when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think. zzubreebym
